F-15EX Dev Discussion Thread

Also just realized it is limited to 3 JDAMs per CFT.

This is incorrect. New production CFTs are wired for JDAM from all stations

Advanced eagle brochure should be enough.

Do you have anything for K band and full spherical coverage on EPAWSS?

Second this as well, the CBUs just don’t really seem to do anything unless you drop them like right ontop of the target.

Same deal, it seems like they have far fewer submunitions than actual CBU-87s, which should sit at 202 submunitions.

Mate, you are bad at reading context. Aren’t ya?

He is referring to the normal F-18C, which initially came without ground-ordnance capability. The old one back in the 1990s.

And you brought up the MLU version post-2012.

Calling ‘Technical compatibility’ Realism is a wild take.

Yes, we already have USAF F-5C with countermeasure pods based on the exported F-5A
We also earned a better engine for the F-15E before, and so on.

Are those compatible? yes.

Are these realistic? no.

On the other side,
Gaijin ditched AIM-7F, napalm, and HMS from the British F-4J, while USN jets were capable of using them.
Finnish F-18C and ROC Mirage 2000-5Ei came with zero ground ordnances
And the South African Gripen without AIM-120.

No, I am not saying that the USAF F-15EX should remain a worse jet than its Israeli counterpart.
I already supported the PW229 engine change for the F-15E before, iirc.

But calling it ‘realistic’ is a wild choice of words.

Yeah, that is honestly frustrating.

yeah seem to have less submunitions, and the submunitions seem to be underperforming

they should each have a ~200mm pen HEAT warhead

yet on dev I can drop all 24 (should be 4848 submunitions) on top of the cluster of MBTs from close range and not kill any of them

Yep, sadly I doubt there would be a way to report the submunition count and performance if it is indeed wrong since, I’d wager the only way we would be able to know the exact count of submunitions and the stats of such are via datamining.

Edit since I don’t want to double post.

Lmao, this EPAWSS report got accepted immediately, goes to show that it really all comes down to which tech mod you roll for the report.

It is more realistic though, there is picture of F-15EX with MAWS, and we know from recent Sam. Gov that EX retained all the cooling and power and wiring needed for MAWS

It’s not like F-5 since MAWS already a thing for advanced eagles

The only issue of realism with the advanced F-15’s is the F-15IA not being removed outright. It’s not some ww2 tank, it’s a top tier fighter

Hopefully we can put this to end. It’s an open and shut case.

Here’s the spreadsheet data:

the issue with that is that the US f15E fleet use both the 220 and the 229 so there was really no reason to add both the US and Israel one with different engines unless they where gonna split the US f15e between early and late and at that point the late might as well be an f15e RMP

They probably keep em in the game, and if Israel cancels it? Then they probably just shove them into the ‘R2Y2 zone’ :/

Until then, well, they approved it.

What are the zoom angles compared to F16CM pod?

assuming it is the same as F-15I

you have lower zoom but similar/better angles

So far:
The F-15EX is missing:

  • MAWS
  • EPAWSS (besides countermeasures)
  • MRML
  • 6 GBU-54s LJDAMs
  • 6 GBU-38s JDAMs
  • 8 GBU-38s
  • 8 GBU-53s
  • AIM-9M capability on stations 1 and 9, therefore 4 AIM-9Ms

That’ll be a lot nicer than the current pods US Jets get

Good news, this report is saved and being merged with other previously accepted F-15EX EPAWSS: Spherical RWR Coverage and ESM report.

yeah its zoom is more workable

and the better positive angle is really nice for keeping target as you roll

F-15’s probably have the best looking vapours rn. (bugged from upper view tho)
