At the very least, the air force is likely to start adding it to the ex fleet sometime next year so we could get it then
+/- 70 degrees in azimuth and elevation
Pretty mid imo but it’s something, we get passive ranging with an improved ranging mode if datalink is added
hopefully it’s like the EPAWSS, they might be getting all the techical data to differentiate it from the russian ESM. either that or they are taking their sweet time changing one flag in the code.
I hope this is just them joking, like they have to be.

lmao, that one F15c demo that just had the body pylons attached has done irreparable damage to the some of the Warthunder playerbase in regards to the ex
So damn, you guys weren’t kidding. the TWS range is like a massive upgrade from its prior state, hopefully this might mean we are getting much larger maps before 5th gens. Maybe for the December update since its almost certain now their not coming next major.

I’m genuinely curious about the aerodynamic reasons behind the F-15EX having a higher maximum speed and acceleration than the Su-30SM2. (Speed overall)
The Su-30SM2 has very powerful engines, with comparable or potentially higher combined thrust depending on the engine rating, and both aircraft use variable-geometry air intakes. The Su-30 also has a larger wing area, a higher aspect ratio, and lower wing loading at maximum takeoff weight.
These characteristics can offer certain aerodynamic advantages, particularly regarding lift generation and induced drag.
So what exactly gives the F-15EX its advantage with such high speeds? Is it related to wave drag, wing sweep, airfoil thickness, intake efficiency, frontal area, overall aerodynamic design, or something else entirely?
I’d genuinely appreciate an explanation from anyone knowledgeable in aerodynamics or aircraft design. I’m trying to understand the engineering behind it rather than simply compare specifications.
28 missiles 😭 you cannot be serious lmao
doesnt the f15ex have a better thrust to weight ratio?
Eh?
Yep, by a good bit, the F-15EX is also a physically smaller aircraft by volume so it will be creating less total drag to begin with.
People seem to forget that the SU-3X series of aircraft are just big, eg in almost every direction the SU-30 is roughly between 2 to 6 feet larger.
No matter how you cut it, getting more plane to the same speed gets exponentially harder.
Heck, a good example of this is, ironically, battleship design, 33 knots is pretty much the absolute max battleships were ever reliably able to cruise at, not because of engine power, but because of our mastery of induced drag and physics capping out against a geometric curve of engine power required here.
Getting more thing to go faster is harder than making less thing go faster.
It will almost definitely have the forward mounts when production starts. They aren’t going to retool to change the forward fuselage again. IMO
*if production starts
theyve already been paid for in full
The money is already down, they definitely want them, it’s just a matter of clearing the US production first.
It’s not really an if, but a when in my mind.
Israel is paying for them with US tax payer funded FMF grants which might dry up for Israel in 2027
yeah I bet you’d like the max amount for euro canards, I’m sure you have no vested interest, cough cough.
lol don’t worry, shilling for Israel is bipartisan, people just say whatever to get elected, look at muh files totally gonna get released bro, just vote us in bro, (neither party released sh*t lol)
Different frontal wing geometries & decisions, along with superior engines.
Su-30SM2 has forward moving canards that could have a lower maximum speed, potentially other attached equipment as well not on previous models of Flanker.
It’s also worth noting that the Flanker series as a whole has a soft-speed limit of mach 2.05, and going over mach 2.05 should not occur for more than 15? minutes according to manuals over structural concerns.
funding will probably increase if anything XD
Hence I said might
