F-15E using F100-PW-220s for "Balance" while F-15I has 229s at the same BR

You were saying?

Spoiler

If this is true, why does the 1993 manual list that the -229 engine was installed on F-15E 90-233 onwards. the 90-233 being an aircraft with pictures of it that can be traced back to 1994 even?

But the F15I lacks the AGM65 for ground attack, and even a better engine won’t offer much of an advantage

the engine is massively better, it’s a huge advantage

That is why we are saying that the F-15I should get mavericks or other similar weapons like the spice/agm-142 at the same time when the F-15E gets the -229 engines.

Now both planes are getting unnecessarily gimped in different ways. the F-15I is getting gimped in the CAS department and the F-15E is getting gimped in the A2A department.

just give it spice 250 already, dont know how come iir seeker could be imbalanced compared to kh38 slingers

Just so you know the F-15I with the -229 engines can go over 1620Kmh IAS on the deck with full AMRAAM loadout (min fuel).

So yeah the -229 is a massive advantage in both top speed and acceleration.

the 1993 Manual seems to say other wise

edit: for those wanting the manual I do not believe we can post links though let me know if I’m wrong.

They do. The F-15E in-game is a Block 43 from MHAFB 389th Thunderbolts which exclusively operate 220 Eagles. MHAFB 319st Bold Tigers operate 229 Eagles. Gaijin has done their home work here and it is pretty clear that they’ve intended the U.S. F-15E to have 220 engines to begin with. You get Mavericks which are extremely important for dealing with SPAA while the F-15I gets no stand-off capabilities. As far as I am concerned the trade-offs here are pretty well balanced and this is just another round of people coping that they aren’t getting the absolute best jet in every category.

So what year does this aircraft belong?

There are options for them to get stand-off capabilities. It’s just that Gaijin seems alletgic to giving them to Israel. Gimping their F-15I to being more of an air superiority fighter with some cas sidejobs.

The Block 42’s are from 1992 but of course have been upgraded over the years. They were however produced with the 220 engines and not fitted with anything else.

I believe the US F-15E could receive the Litening II/III or SNIPER pod to further amplify this and create a division of roles. The F-15I only ever used the LANTIRN in real life while the F-15E has other superior options.

I also believe both planes should receive the AIM-120C3/4 as this AIM-120C does not have any performance advantages over the AIM-120A but has smaller fins allowing for extra clearance. As it stands the AIM-120A cannot be mounted alongside LGB’s and Triple Mavericks on the wings which is a bummer. (Currently can mount Triple Mavericks but acknowledged to be a bug/unintentional.)

They are clearly unwilling to add the Popeye unfortunately so I doubt we’ll see it.

I’m asking what place in time does gaijins “homework” take place for the game.
cause the HMD doesn’t show on F-15s until 2010s and Gaijin only gave it a LANTRIN. Doesn’t sound like homework was done.

Well yes that’s odd, hence me suggesting it receives a superior TGP.

They have also made it very clear that they will not add Mavericks to any of the new Israeli jets.

Not really when the answer goes back to the same thing.

Gaijin is making a choice for it to be implemented the way it is. Weather they will cow tail with the many complaints about their choice will have to be seen.

F-15E so has an FM UFO. He squeezes 1.4M off the ground with full armament and CFT

At the very least I believe that if they want to go down the “F-15E Better CAS, F-15I Better A2A” route they should give the F-15E a superior TGP and more CAS options.
