Now that Gaijin has changed the engines to the 229 for live Israel has once again, for the nth in a row, received the same plane, but just worse in every way. Literal dead tree. Never gets anything that makes it unique for air, and Merkavas are garbage in ground.

Yes. Having air to ground ordinance is better than engine power.
Mavericks are the best piece of air to ground ordnance for this air to ground plane.
Straight forward and simple.
You just want to take the ground attack airplane into AIR RB and have it be the best Air to Air plane as well. That is not balance.

Depends on what your playstyle is, I would prefer guided bombs with the ability to outrun SAMs over Mavs. Some would prefer Mavs over that ability.
If your only goal is to run in drop all your ordinance and die, then the mavericks are going to be better.
If you’re a player who prefers to rearm, then the engine power is better.
The israeli one is still the best air to air plane, it has 120 extra countermeasures.
Mavericks are outright better in GRB. There is no debate.
However, the -229 engines are significantly worth more than having the ability to carry mavericks.

I’m all for the 15I getting better weaponry, but mavericks are incredibly easy to deal with for SPAA.
I agree that the 15E is now better than the 15I, but I think you are seriously overstating the capabilities of mavericks.
I’m not debating whether its better or not because its play style, I’d take 2 IR bombs with the ability to run over mavericks, but that’s just my playstyle, doesn’t mean it’s better or worse.
Bombs have a mach 1.01 drop limit as well right? Seeing how easy it is to destroy bombs with SAMs now I still think mavs are slightly better.
I use them on the Kurnass 2000 and sometimes switch it up with the barak, but the maximum skill limit for Mav’s for what you can do is way higher.
Being able to pop off at 22km or pop up for a split second and send a mav to a pantsir who didn’t even know you did it is key to top tier.
Send 2-3 mavs to the pantsir. gets them every time
You also have to be much closer to target to allow the bombs to reach its target. Mavericks on the other hand, as long as you’re going at least mach, you can launch them as far as 10km+.

2-3 are free snacks when I play Pantsir. I think I can personally even take down 5 before they kill me.
I just mag dump all my mavs on the enemy Pantsir then go home and re-arm and repeat. Make them use all their missiles and give way to friendly CAS.
