Still not sure why the AGM-130 would be too strong? Are we forgetting the existence of the PGM-2000 now as well? From what I know the AGM-130 is nothing more than a GBU-15 with a weak sustainer motor, very similar in behavior to the PGM. And not to mention, recently Gaijin added IIR PGMs. Launching these from anywhere above their tracking range is not as useful, unless it’s maybe against stationary SPAA, but effectiveness will dwindle the longer it takes to get into tracking range.
I don’t think it will have nearly the same glide abilities as the GBU-39, not to mention you can also only carry 2 of these on the F-15.
I still think they should be added just at least for the F-111C, because as of now it lacks FnF munitions like it’s US counterpart.
How is my reply tone-deaf? we are comparing ordinances, in both cases with both ordinances traveling towards you, you will experience the same issues you described. I was commenting on the speed alone.
Datalink, GNSS and LOAL capabilities.
If you do not add those, then just a sustainer added to GBU-15 wont change much, if anything, as you in practice still need to get close enough to lock IR on the target (~10km), so changing the range from 25km to 75km wont change much. And that i wouldn’t really have any objections to, but then again it wouldn’t be a AGM-130 either.
All this also must be on GBU-15 and PGM (except GNSS).
I’m not saying that this is a must-have weapon, id wait laser sdb, but I just don’t see the point in saying that it’s overpowered
It’s overpowered if added with all IRL capabilities, that was my point. If you take away everything but the booster upgrade then you just get a GBU-15 with a booster to extend range (so something equivalent to PGM-2000) and that i have no issues with, but as i have stated previously, that also wouldn’t be the AGM-130 which was what OP asked for to be added. Had they asked for just the booster added to the GBU-15 then i probably would even have bothered answering the thread.
What’s funny is that gaijin got the speed of AGM65 wrong should be way faster than it is right now which also has been bug reported an passed to the devs Community Bug Reporting System. Now the question is will they implement the fix probably not for another two years.
Well it did get added however, they had to add the one that was pre-modification upgrade (No IOG+GPS) and of the seekers that are available (IR or TV), they chose TV.
GBU-53 was found in the files so it probably will be added eventually in a future update. These things will so peak imagine carrying 20 IR-guided glide bombs.
At least it looks really cool, even with IR seeker its CAS use would be somewhat overshadowed by the triple maverick mounts anyway, though it could then at least be considered as an option. With TV seeker only, its use is limited to stationary targets for PVE purposes, or else probably the GBU-15(V)2/B would just be better. Don’t really understand why it’s TV only, considering similar options already exist in game with IR seeker (like the PGM-2000).
I did not expect these so soon, but I can imagine these will be restricted to SALH only for balance. Probably as (SALH) brimstone equivalent, due to lack of info on the laser guided GBU-39B/B (afaik just a LJDAM seeker slapped on the front of the GBU-39/B, but I have not been able to find a single picture of it besides a CGI/CAD image and a very unclear photo from a test).
Kinda sad that US didn’t get any SALH+GNSS munitions yet despite being just one copy paste away from getting them.
