Yeah. Just tried it in a match. It’s still a F-15 at its core with better engine so it’s still dominant but it’s a lot less of a UFO than before, for sure. With the drag coefficient now higher, I imagine the optimal load will be full internal fuel with no external/no CFT. To limit drag to a maximum.
Yeah CFTs in game are useful only to have more pylons, in air RB drop tanks are more useful if someone needs more fuel
By the way, do you know if there’s any limitation to having amraam on one CFT and bombs on the other?
The game says that’s impossible yet you can have a much more goofy loadout with CFT only on 1 side while the other side is clean lol.
Stop plagiarizing my takes then telling people to ignore me.
Your post can be seen as bait due to that.
Never really checked but i don’t think one side CFT is possible lol, that would be a lot of weight imbalance
Hopefully in December update balance will be restored for minor nations. But Gaijin is very unpredictable…
Minor nations are mostly caught up. Its Germany, Russia, and GB that desperately need better fighters.
People are expecting USA to get another boost with the F-18.
Unironically hope they add it only to Germany just so I can see a certain annoying group fume to death
This would be ideal, but I think gaijin has made a promise already that the F-18 will come to USA at the same time that it comes to other nations.
Fake limitation. Lots of pictures of mixed A2A and A2G CFT load from Kosovo. Only limit is individual CFT is either A2A or A2G
I thought you meant Russia for a second rip
Are engine nerf realistic? Aren’t F-15 made to do well at high speeds, I understand drag and maneuverability would be worse for the E but I heard they messed with the thrust which doesn’t really make sense
Did 3 tests on the F-15E updated performance, it seems quite close to real life after the change. They pretty much should leave it exactly where it is from what I’m seeing, neither a nerf nor a buff. Here’s the first post link with a few more below
What about the top end though? It should be able to hit 2.4 with a few missiles no?
It weighs more than the C and the airframe produces more drag.
Engine power wont offset that
Most likely not. The F-111 was able to go above mach 2.5 at 60,000 ft irl. In game it decelerates at mach 1.1, same story with the F-15E/I, and the PW F100-229 has higher specific thrust, and higher overall thrust. Even using dev mode in test flight to get to the speeds listed, it still has negative acceleration so it’s not an issue with not being fast enough to generate enough thrust.
All jet planes in game underperforming past around 40,000 ft.
So basically it should hit those speeds at alt but the game is weird like that?
Yeah. The devs said in a bug report concerning the F-15C that they don’t tune performance for altitudes above the tropopause (36,000ft) because players don’t use those altitudes (because planes underperform there)
