because guess what japanese f-15cs are lighter than the american f-15c and israeli f-15cs.

I heard they use more composites is it true?
No it’s just that the american f-15c is too heavy for some reason, it’s been reported but i forgot why they didn’t fix it
Hm weird guess it was a shoddy source
so yes they are lighter but the f15j fm is as or more comparable with f15a than f15c msip2
it continues to out accelerate MSIP2 well past that point
and has better SEP well past that as well
Isn’t it also true for f15a vs f15c?
might be optimized for higher altitudes then, check 10km alt.
Also its mostly explained by weight differences as i showed above, and that the f-15a engine is more powerful at lower speeds/lower altitudes
nah 10km alt theyre basically the same lmao, ig its really just weight differences that makes the a so insane in a dogfight
you were looking at f15JM
f15j is much closer to f15a than msip and about halfway between f15a and f15jm
it’s dual band

yeah that makes sense due to their weight (f-15c is a fat boy). i shouldve just labeled the thrust differences, that’s the frame i was trying to for since the c and a have different engines
Is there no chance the rvvmd2 has a different seeker than r74m2? Has that ever happened withe export variants?
yes
and and as I said f15j is one of the better f15 flight models and unlike what you said as or more closely comparable with the f15a than the f15c in game
I never said it was the same as f15a
as it is it is the second best f15 fm out of 5
nah, the only imaging seekerhead russia produced was for the canceled izd-300/k-30 missile, and they just restarted the development for an improved version of it called izd-300m 4 years ago. i talked about it in the r-73 thread
i meant that f-15j is an f-15c with f-15a engines, it’s not a f-15a. just was saying that. it makes sense its better than the c
r-30 is wrong designation, it never went into service, was always k-30. and r-74m2 is definitely not imaging, russian imaging seekerheads have much difference front end compared to their non imaging counter parts
but for in game f15c = msip2
because that is the only aircraft named f15c (until GE is added but that has the same fm)
The article was about a rumour of a possible restarting of the K-30 project
it’s definitely restarted
“This year, a range of scientific research and design work was undertaken within the future development foundation with the aim of creating a scientific-technical section for future innovations within the State Arms Order, and also boosting the export potential of the articles delivered by the company,” read the article published in the Vympel NPO magazine.
“The new work in the future development foundation includes the creation of an outline for the future Izdeliye 300M, research on ballistic characteristics of articles with combined engine (propulsion) installations, and also experimental evaluation of the effect of changes in antenna arrays on the main characteristics of radar seeker heads.”
