I see where your coming from but that’s more heavily based on them primarily fighting against WARSAW, and the amazingly good awareness provided by the jets sensors and AESA radar that allow it to fight and defend significantly better than other jets.
This does not translate well to ARB so I wouldn’t use it as a comparison for how mechanic would work.
MICA NG is not just a range extension it also provides it a IR seeker in addition to it primary seeker according to there own website, while also providing amazing shortrange so will still be really good unlike the C-5 (for some reason) and of course has the massive range increase over the MICA which already has a nerfed range. it is most definitely not going to be moot lol.
The IR will definitely be scary but the IR and Radar one is most definitely more terrifying though we probably wont see either because according to gaijin quite recently IIRC they wont introduce these new IR missiles until they add either more ECM systems or 5th gens, it was either both or one of those two they said.
The way Gaijin modeled AGM-179, you can be sure you won’t have combined seekers on single missile. So MICA NG will be available separately in radar and infrared flavors.
Makes you think how the upcoming December/early 2026 major would have been a more or less decent time to add Rafale in its current state. Not a whole year ago.
Its not like FR winrate would plummet to below 30’s if they had just the 14.0 mirage (currend 2nd best performing plane in ARB, surpassed only by… you guessed it) for all that time, but oh well. JP/CN/SWE seem to be doing more or less fine, to give you an idea.
I don’t think so when looking at the current implementation of the Sam systems
And imo it might actually be better that way for the health of the game (most irccm missiles are already underperforming in their irccm due to game balance)
So did the F-15C GE carry more missiles than what we have in game? If not, is the F-15C GE compatible with the dual racks? If it is, wouldn’t that be enough grounds for it to have them?
Considering old Ah-64Es (Taiwan: Version 1 & Indonesian: Version 4) which is not compatible with the JAGM (unless they get upgrades) is getting them, it should be fair for the GE to get dual racks.
If all we need it “technical compatibility” then that would make a lot of things easier to balance (not agreeing with dev’s new inconsistent standard though).
yeah because it has the f-15a engines on a f-15c frame. it’s an f-15c, japan never used the f-15a.
f-15a engines are better than the c engines at all speeds below roughly mach .9 or something
If the differences between dual band and imaging seeker doesn’t change r74m or r74m2 will be of little difference besides ins.
I’ve seen claims that r74m2 incorporates an imaging seeker but more commonly it’s stated the it’s still just an improved dual band seeker.
Imo considering how strong dual band seekers already are in-game I wager r74m vs aim9x bl1 will be pretty identical in terms of perfomance.
