F-15 Eagle: History, Performance & Discussion

Aircraft left

Technical compatibility, all are advanced eagles with same mission computer

How did USAF not buy MRML if its on the outside pylon of the EX.

i like the totally not glued on irst

Fruit from forbidden tree to get that weight lol

Aren’t flankers still overperforming in STR though?

Boeing acutally hinted the integrated IRST on the Advanced Eagles

yes but like can this is genuinly a non functioning one and a one off picture afaik

At the same time, there’s no way to know whether the fairing is a real-life IRST sensor that was fitted for testing of some kind or whether it’s a mock-up of a possible sensor housing. Boeing has responded to our inquiry and confirmed it is indeed real and not a Photoshop representation.

So mock-up seeing as it went nowhere

wouldnt matter anyhow

Still, it’s a possibility

not really its a farther stretch then anything rn, we have 2 pics and we dont even know its name or stats, plus only like 2 pics

IRST integrated is a huge stretch for now, but inner wing MRML is clearly something Boeing is fully aware of for the advanced eagles

yup

That’s not glued on. There is a panel there, and has been since at least the C/D models

Funny thing is that through newer 34s, F15A/Cs(using normal apg63s and 63v1s) and F15Es apg70s used the full 160N.M range. Dunno when it happened specifically, the 1989 F15E-34 gaijin has would atleast tell me it happened in the 90s
