Is there any reason to expect MAWs for F-15EX when Gaijin has refused IRST for the German Typhoon or LWS for the Swedish Gripen E even though export variants had those systems?
Considering German AESA Typhoon got AESA radar that hasn’t even entered the service in Lutwaffe alongside with IRST and Spice-250 weapon systems i’d say yes.
That still wouldn’t be consistent though, if they added an “AESA F-15 Advanced” then that would be more consistent then, no? But if it’s a specific variant like F-15EX then that wouldn’t make much sense. The German AESA was named “AESA Typhoon” for this reason as it didn’t need to be held to a specific standard but included possible options and future upgrades.
Same goes for F15EX, they dont have to stuck with Us configuration.
That would depend on the name itself, wouldn’t it? If they go with “F-15EX” as the name then they would have to go with the US configuration, no?
EF-2000 is only used by germany afaik yet it gets stuff from foreign configurations. same with F-2000A
Not really, they can just name it as F15EX and be done with it since all configurations tested on us airframes.
Weapons like missiles or bombs is fair game, no one has denied that. We’re talking about on-board equipments now such as the IRST, radar, something fixed to the aircraft typically.
pre production EX, note that the MAWS blisters have the aperture open and not covered like on standard ones

Btw I am not denying that the US ever tested MAWS on the EX, just that Germany tested IRST on German airframes, but it still got denied since the actual in-service airframes didn’t have it which was the reasoning that was given.

Depends a bit on how generous gaijin are tbh
Example being I convinced them to put an export countermeasures dispenser set from a Egyptian MiG-29M 9.41SM on the Russian MiG-29KR 9.41R
Although these countermeasure dispensers are just external bolt on to the airframe so maybe that’s why

Shame that you couldn’t convince them about R-27s. But in reality i think F-15EX will have MAWS because USA does need an aircraft with sensor fusion at that br if we are to introduce next gen of Fox-2s. And we will, because you simply can’t run the game on 9M and R-73 until 5th generation.
You could say that F-16 block 72 or whatever it is (i am not savy about US stuff as much) could be put there, but F-15EX is just way more convenient for br this high.
it would make no difference, the PoBIT is in fact arguably better than a block 72.
whether or not they give EX maws will be interesting, but the F-15SA and QA always remain as options for the US
Shame primary sources wasn’t enough on the R-27 situation
doubt they will go in the tech tree of the big nation. So far only UK is known for that, but it’s because it has major gaps in aircraft development timeline, jumping from stuff like Tornado straight to a Eurofighter.
QA and SA will most likely go to a minor nation close to that region and is lacking its own 4++ airframe, USA is 95% will get only EX and i am 75% sure that it will feature MAWS to fit with the rest of the crowd.
well where could the SA and QA go? UK has connections to Saudi military but so does the US and UK has their own stuff at 14.7 already. Israel is the regional pick but they are getting greece already, and we are talking about Saudi and Qatari fighters

Also Greece might not give us a top tier powerhouse. Rafale is stupid strong, but not with short range missiles if we happen to go into R-37/Meteor/AIM-174 territory, Israel might need something with more of an oomph
