Do we know if AMBER racks can actually fire the missiles they carry or are they just for ferrying missiles? I remember someone here saying that may have been the case

He thinks they were non-functional racks that didn’t have connections and could not fire the missile. Either a mockup or for moving the missiles as cargo. And from the evidence he’d be mostly if not completely right. Could they have done a secret test of these racks? Yes and we wouldn’t know about it. The rack itself exists. The wiring, programming etc to support it might not.

okay the display thing makes sense but we can kinda argue the same thing for the eft double rack since it was based off a mockup seen and a official display cockpit.
It was more the transporting missiles thing that was odd I could think of like 30 much more efficient ways to transport 4 extra missiles.

I’m not holding my breath for the AMBER racks to be put on any platform soon in 100% capacity and authorized. Maybe if it was a cheapish base modification on the BRU with some kit.
The APKWS II w/ proxy rounds pretty much takes care of the “pack as many A2A shots as possible” on it and far cheaper. So there isn’t a rush and that’s why we don’t have it in game either.
If the pacific went hot the AMBER racks would be strapped onto whatever F-15 EXII is left after the first air/drone battles via rush order.

Yes. F-15C GE was added in the update spearhead, MRML was given in update line of contact
So it got it one update after it was added

I wait F-15EX (early production) and F-15E early (desert shield/desert storm config) for USA tech tree after current major update
well the APKWS 2s shown in this image (if not in this image but they have been getting usesd recently) have IR seekers, acting like mini-AIM-9Bs but you get a lot more of them, ontop of your standard 4xAIM-9s and 4xAIM-120s or whatever your standard air to air loadout you use for the F-15s
