F-15 Eagle: History, Performance & Discussion

yes, T.O. 1F-15A-1 includes F-15A/B/C/D, since they’re fundamentally the same airframe. Initially they were even closer as the first F-15Cs had both the original AN/APG-63 and the old -100 engines. the 1989 manual I included in the report has charts for the 220 engines, the earlier ones had F-15Cs with the 100s still so I couldn’t use it. As for the high speed performance I haven’t tested it yet.

The problem is that the documentation says “against moving ships” or something like that. But I don’t mind if it’s just IR glide bomb

The F-15E is certified for three or five JSOWs. The F-15SA has only one. F-15EX with new CFT can carry 11 JDAM-ER.

JAGM-F only ARH+Laser

Any info on how the F-15A and F-15E perform to real life?

F-15a is also underperforming at low speeds at high altitude, I forgor about f-15e

W. I always found it weird that even the F-14A could beat the F-15 consistently in the type of fights the eagles perform well at (high speed vertical merge, using pure power and lift to drain the opponent, etc…)

How much will this change the high speed pull and speed retention though? With these changes the F-15s will inevitably pull harder, with more AoA, but also more bleed, which might be good or bad depending of how you look at it. Asking because I really like how the 15C MSIP II can keep it’s Mach 1-1.1 speed while max pulling on the deck. You can outrun almost anything and it really helps dictate fights.

the pilots in the F-15s that did indeed fight the F-14s noted that it was not a head to head engagement like they were briefed on for the training exercises, but when that was the case the F-15s usually won due to being able to read the F-14s due to the auto wing sweep

Never even thought of that, that’s really smart

Yup :) It’s also the case that experienced F-14 pilots would intentionally sweep the wings forward or back to trick them.

I finally got around to testing, from what I could see the F-15C is 0.02 mach too slow ingame. It also hits it at the wrong alt. In standard day conditions according to the manual the F-15C should max out at mach 2.42 at 12.8 km. I wasn’t able to hit mach 2.4 at that alt. However around 9.5 km I was able to hit mach 2.4… which it shouldn’t be able to do at that alt. I’m not going to bother reporting it, as Gaijin said before they don’t care about exact performance at those extreme alts, and the top speed itself is well within allowable limits. 0.02 mach off is basically nothing.

the turn performance and pull is fine?

I didn’t test that yet, can’t say for sure. It would be extremely difficult to test at that alt is the issue, with how little lift there is. The FM dev has dev tools for that

what about more typical altitudes like 5-8km

I’d say that above 12000 metres is extreme altitude. At those altitudes, not even Rafale perfoms that well. However, at sub 10000 m, Rafale and other turn pretty well while keeping high speeds.

Issue here is that’s where the manual says its top speed is, that’s why I was testing there.

I’ll check when I can

Hmm. AIM-120C-5, AN/APG-63(V)3 and BOL? pretty meh imo
also, USSR seems to be getting the Kh-59 (they really suffered without it)

kh-59 is worse than the kh-38 for sead

Longer range, but God forbid JASSM cause that would truly be op
