F-15 Eagle: History, Performance & Discussion

Guys, after discussing with TheWreckingAres my suggestion, which was denied several months ago, he decided to approve it and release it.

Here is said suggestion.

Some screenshots I’ve taken of the F-15E with max graphics.

Also whilst I’m at it some screenshots trying to recreate the F-15 shooting down a satellite. (Fantastic user skin by LeiteArts10 on WT Live, substituted the ASM-135 for the GBU-8 since they do look surprisingly similar).

Sorry if I’m making a mistake here, but is there a reason that all the F-15 variants in game are incapable of going Mach 2.5? I remember that the Streak Eagle was used in a lot of the records it set, but iirc the Eagle could reach 2.5 with an air superiority loadout.

It depends on weather conditions

pretty sure it was a stripped down version of the F-15E and yeah it can but it has to be pretty perfect condition

the streak eagle flew long before the F-15E existed

F-15 Streak Eagle (AF Ser. No.72-0119)
An unpainted F-15A stripped of most avionics demonstrated the fighter’s acceleration capabilities. The aircraft broke eight time-to-climb world records between 16 January and 1 February 1975 at Grand Forks AFB, ND. It was delivered to the National Museum of the United States Air Force in December 1980. The aircraft is currently on display in the museum’s Research and Development Hangar.

and you can see that it has the engines/nozzles of the f-15a

ok

All service F-15s should be able to reach Mach 2.5 in a clean config. Even with minimal fuel, you can’t do that ingame.
It’s just gaijob and their “we believe that it’s marketing propaganda”

Same as EFT’s.

4 More SDB I on the wing pylon on the F-15E

IIRC it is not authorized, but… who cares.

Sources state the possibility of 28 GBU-39s

So we finally got the designation for the Air to Air variant of the APKWS II FALCO, the AGR-20F

Also F-15E use of the variant.

I’ll work on a bug report for it.

Dual mode guidance can’t come soon enough.

report is live.

I’ll link it into existing missing APKWS II reports where I can.

Has anyone bothered to report the sustained turn rate of the F-15C?

I did an in-depth test of sustained turn rate vs this chart at 10,000 feet while using the reference weight. Here are results in graph form.

Pink-line represents the amount of difference between in-game testing and from the reference source. Currently the plane is missing over 2 degrees per second STR at low speeds. This is actually very substantial when considering the measurement is take at 10,000 feet. 2.4 degrees missing out of 10.4 degrees is 23% of its low speed turn performance.

For reference, my testing with sim controls will net around a 9 degrees per second STR at Mach .3 at 10,000 feet. This is true for F-15C with 52% fuel and also true for F-15A if loaded to 82% fuel; both of these fuel loads correspond to 37,000lbs total weight.

Another point of reference is that Statshark EM diagram predicts an STR of 11.6 degrees per second. I am getting 9 degrees per second in actual in-game testing.

Yeah it’s been underperforming since forever. General lee 2000 helped make a bug report on it a long time ago but it got rejected, lemme see if i can find it.
Must be misremembering I remember him saying that f-15c was underperforming in sustained rate but all i see on his account is empty mass reports/radar reports
Found it

Is this with 97 engine trim or 102 engine trim?

Is the Su-30SM overspeed thing equivalent to 102 trim or is it something else entirely?
