F-15 Eagle: History, Performance & Discussion

6x better performing Kh38 vs 6x worse 65Ds but with thermals, so I guess I could see the argument.

I don’t think most other new weapons that both are getting are even worth mentioning if we are talking about ground RB. the cruise missiles seem like a gimmick and the GBU-39s are to small to really do anything outside of acting as radar decoys.

Ur right, the grom-1 rockets and the gbu 39 will be fun to use against AI in air rb and SIM but almost useless against player-controlled tanks

So reminder that the F-15I is coming and the F-15I was only equipped with the 229 engines.

So if the F-15E is coming with 220s, we once again have another example of a third party getting a better version of the same aircraft at the same exact BR.

What “balance” is there if there is the better F-15 with the upgraded engines sitting in another tree?

Thats US plane, so might be like that

Thats what I’m getting from this.

No its not for “balance”, its because its a US aircraft, again.

And if they downgrade the F-15I’s engines thats ahistoric as it never equipped the 220s.

Yeah that would be a bit annoying. Getting US tree but having worse version of stuff every update feels not nice. Although most of the time difference was negligible (e.g 400kg for Japanese F-15C isn’t too noticeable) different engines would be annoying.

They didn’t say balance, on top of that yeah I’ll be going for the Israeli one cause American one runs worse engines and I don’t care for a sidegrade to F-16C as-is, let alone a sidegrade with the worse engines.

10780 LBF of thrust difference, it would be night and day flying the aircraft against each other with that much of a performance difference.

Yeah difference is enormous… at least it’s not Japan again that gets the better variant (it was for F-16A, early F-15s, F-15C)

Got climb rates from BVVD’s stream.

How is the US F-15E having 55 m/s lower of a climb rate when everything else about them is the same, “Balance”?

israel one got 229s for “balance”

I guess they will argue that the 6x AGM-65Ds make up for that gap in performance, somehow.

imo the US one should also just get the -229 engines and if the US one ends up being better than the Israeli one in ground RB they should just be seperated by BR.

BVVD said they did not want to add the more powerful engines to the 15E from the get go, as to not make it the best fighter and attacker simultaneously. A bit later, thoug, he said the 15I only had the more powerful engines, so that is what it is going to get.
He mentioned the 15E could also come in the future with the better engines.

Dunno if the 15I is as capable in ground strike as 15E. If it is, then it will be some prime Gaijin Logique.

“You get to enjoy the worse variant of the F-15E for now and we can bloat the tree later on with a version that fixes all the issues of the F-15E we are adding now, but if you want to avoid that just play Isarel.”

I don’t think I saw mavs on the F-15I, but iirc besides that they were identical in CAS options.

I don’t even know how they could think that this would work lol

You are wrong. On first place They don’t think.

I mean, how can you say no to this man’s logic when he has such a cheeky smile when explaining that Israel gets the better version, huh?

I mean, just look at it. The smile tell you that it is all sound logic.
