F-15 Eagle: History, Performance & Discussion

Yes.

This only affects the thrust calculation in game as I understand.
If F-15 underperfoming in speed below 9km, then it’s missing thrust, if no - it’s fine.

thats what im saying, colder temps the engines perform better you go faster, IE higher Mach numbers. the tables themselves show this trend. i get this is a niche thing that likely wont see much use, but i kinda grew up around this bird, and its always been characterized as a Mach 2.5 aircraft… seeing it stop at 2.3M is kinda sad :/ even if its not useful, its more about honoring the airplanes legacy.

bug report.

Another bug report; low speed sustained turn rate underperforming by 0.5-1G (below 0.4 mach).

That graph is wrong, clean it does M2.34 with 102% thrust, which I don’t even think we have in game but the speeds match up so.

Max speed looks alright for me, it shouldn’t rip from reaching max speed though unless its between 27 and 37k ft as engine pushes it more and more.

This is for 97.7% engine trim. Much lower thrust than 102% trim

And the turn rates chart are for a 97.7% trim engine, 102% should provide even more G’s.

What should be neat to model is the Vmax Switch as a boost.
vmax

Top speed increase using 4 sparrows and engine at 97.7% trim(not 102%+vmax)

You’ll be unlikely to get it. The Tornado has a similar “combat power” setting that squeezes a bit more thrust out the engines but in game it’s set using the manual which excludes combat power and takes engines that are detuned by 2-3% to give a minimum baseline. Only jet I can think of that gets to use its limited time “boost” is the Mig 21Bis, and it may have been removed from that too.

mind linking this source so i can look at it?

Its the Performance Appendix A of the manual, using the PW-100 engine. Appendix B is the pw-220

They’ll probably add the SM Variant together with the f15c

Combat or boost thrust is not modelled in game for anybody so no

Is it true that the f15A’s wing has been fix? i played the f15A today and its wings kept breaking randomly when i tried to move the nose of my plane a little.

or the F15 is a plane that requires players to always pray that their wings don’t randomly break.

I got a longer and clearer recording but due to the 4mb limit.

report F15 wing breaking during light maneuvers, wings fix seem like did’t work as expected.

Do you have a video attached, appears to sustain 12-13G for me?
-edit- nvm I saw the video right above.

It is in appendix A, part 2. Appendix B is another thing entirely.

I didn’t do that, I think it’s because the replay mode doesn’t show the G force when starting to maneuver, but through this video you’ll see it more clearly: https://youtu.be/9HjqfDp21zQ

It’s just a light maneuver, and many people have the same situation as me and it happens quite randomly, so people don’t realize it.

Nvm just checked again and it is fine

Seems almost exact for acceleration testing(condition was 30min fuel, which should be almost 38k lbs).

Using the new WTRTI features?

WTRTI not working with the Su-27?
