BOLs ain’t that useful because they nerfed after Grippens comes in the game.

The problem aircraft of the two is the F-15 though, it along with around 90% of other 13.0s ought to be 13.3.
why would they? the f15a is at 13.0 with aim9ms, and it being moved up by having added an irccm missile while also having fox3s isn’t great, the Phoenixes are mostly useless anyway
Again… with SARH missiles that you can only fire one at a time and arguably worse flight performance.
You can fire them at base bombers or people not expecting to get hit that early on, many still die to Phoenixes. Their absurd splash also makes multipathing basically impossible. They aren’t hard to dodge but neither are sparrows.
missile this, missile that, but how about the flight performance of the f15 vs f14? f14 is much more inferior and the only advantage are the aim54s…
if it gets aim9ms i wouldn’t even care if it gets moved to 13.3 at all

Fold the wings out on the 14B and you can do a lot more than you might think. Also, you carry more radar missiles than the F-15A in the first place.

Necrobumping this thread to say this is laughably wrong. Phoenixes are some of, if not the easiest missiles to multipath in the game. On salvos of 6 Phoenixes fired at multipathing targets I’ve gotten naught but a single crit before; I’ve seen Phoenixes be launched at someone headon before diving into the ground and exploding harmlessly beside them, doing no damage at all.
With the way the AIM-54s are in their current state, the F-14B NEEDS AIM-9Ms- not only to stay competitive, but just to be tolerable. The F-14B especially needs the AIM-9M considering the F-4F ICE exists- an arguably MUCH better Fox 3 slinger at 13.0 that also has IRCCM missiles (AIM-9L/I).
