How do you know that Gaijin has made stuff up about those aircraft?
Because not a single one of those vehicles throughout their entire development and history ever became what we have in War Thunder as they got cancelled before ever becoming able to do any sort of combat due to a lack of weaponry (or in the case of the HO-229 V3 a lack of half the airframe). Even if they were following what the engineers had planned to turn them into, they are still mostly fictional in their implementations. The 229 even has the wrong guns IIRC.
Yet even with that they exist in War Thunder with weapons, why? They never had weapons in real life, yet somehow they have them in War Thunder. Who would be the ones to make the decision to give them weapons in a video game decades after they got cancelled? Perhaps the devs so they can add more aircraft (which yes are both unique and cool)?

If you don’t like this plane, I suggest moving it to the USSR tech tree.
This is the same person who thinks there was no double standard when they justified not giving the brimstones its full capabilities (because it would be OP) while also allowing the KH38s in the game.
He argues for the sake of arguing.

Honestly I’m fine with this however they need to explicitly state that this is not historically accurate and is done for balancing, or whatever.
I don’t know how and what they will do, i just started playing that version of the plane. I know one thing. You can’t uptier it to 13.0 without proper IR… and i dgaf about they guys that can’t def against F90s. Because if i die to F90s or AIM-54s…or even AMRAAMs, it’s my fault entirely , not even then skills of the other player because he just pushed a keybind -fullstop- .
They should try that approach instead of cry about OP this OP that.
From the games i’ve played my major problem that won’t go away even with F90s or whatever missile…are 9Ps. They just can’t in that BR range. So Fatter it is…like tomorrow.

The main problem with it going to 13.0 isnt really the ir missiles, its the terrible rwr, bad radar and only 30 cm pops. You have no ability to properly counter any aim-120s or any other active radar missile for that matter, all your radar missiles are easily countered by just going cold and dropping chaff since your radar is head on only, while you have to somehow notch (without having any idea whats going on because of your terrible rwr) and also dumb all your chaff to evade just one missile. Also to defeat a single irccm missile you probably need to dump all the flares you have since you engines run super hot.

What i know is without proper IR it doesn’t help the situation. And so far i know that i would have 2x the kills i have if i had AIM-9M/Magic II or R73 or even AIM-9L or Python 3. I can go into position but 9Ps can’t make the kills. That’s my problem so far. And i don’t have F90 or even CMs mod yet. And in every uptier (90%) of the games i have planes with ARH in it… it doesn’t bother me even if RWR is trash. I don’t mind going down with 2/1 K/D in a match. I start to get annoyed from the times it should have happened but 9P just won’t cut it.
And in that BR everything at least got something you can work with…instead that plane’s success is based on how bad are others and not defend against F90. Which will happen even if it gets uptiered , but it’s not something that’s actually data for comparison in a plane’s strength…
the iriaf never got aim9ls, fatter or r73s, it only used aim9ps
you sound like “just notch bro” guy, dodging fakours at alt is EXTREMELY hard, you get rwr warning for like 5 seconds and you die, if you get into a notch the iog will keep locking onto you, after the iog buff to fox3s its even HARDER to dodge them, trying to multipath them is also hard because they will just splash you, you cant go cold against them it will just kill you anyway, so yeah they are OP
Did you see me anywhere saying IRIAF getting AIM-9L?I said if i have any of those i would have two times the kills i have with the plane (which i started grinding yesterday from stock).
Fatter is practically an all-aspect AIM-9P , airborne derivative of Azarakhsh missile that is use by the SHORAD with the same name. IRIAF Phantoms use it as well , Saeqeh and Azarakhsh use it as well and also drones. Possibly is the missile you see in most newer pictures of those planes , and have in mind that AIM-9P and 7E2 from the 70s have expired by now (yes, chemistry doesn’t care about a lot of things and RNZAF had an incident with their AIM-9Gs, warheads from those sidewinders at least expired after 15 years i think).
Even the 7E2 you see in those pictures is an Iranian reverse engineered one , and we don’t even know if something is changed in the specs of the missile.
R-73s they do have though and the test was successful, R-27 wasn’t successful. Though they don’t give it to Tomcats because they are in high demand from all the other Russian types they have. Tomcats are secondary for Iran nowdays.
Maybe i sound like that, because in my plays with MF.1C-200, M2K even F-14A and IRIAF or F-16s , Kfir C.7 etc. …over 500 games the last month… i’ve died…10 times to F90. Oh, keyword -Altitude. You know F-14s are in there, you know the missile is very strong at altitude. Why are you there ? To “just notch bro” ? Then it’s all you. Stay low , mask , etc.
I understand they create boring gameplay and it gets repetitive and annoying , but saying the missile is OP because we play things wrong (me included) is too much, really. It’s not that we are flawless in every play… none of us.

They quite literally can’t track “going cold” targets. For the millionth time, their seeker can only see head-on targets and can barely track in the notch.
There’s literally photos of it with the Fatter + They literally tested it with the R-73.

@a_00 is showing a sincere concern about F90, and it is our job as people that aren’t him to understand him.
He is learning, he is in an early state.
He thinks they are OP from his experience, which is the wrong way to think of something as OP or not; and it’s still a valid perspective even if it’s the wrong way to go about it.
let me explain it, the missile never bites on chaff in a notch, even if you do the manuver to dodge the iog it still very luck based for some reason, the moment you go hot or cold it will lock you and kill you so,
