i can tell you for a fact that the part about all sensors is missing in the digital copies of the F-14 manual
I have NAVAIR 01-F14AAA-1 from 2004, which is latest manual of A model but, wasn’t also included radar stuffs. I can’t share it for obvious reasons of cause, but if you’re looking for detailed descriptions of radar and weapons, you’ll have to find a way to get your hands on -1A.
exactly and until that is declassified the F-14 will only have PD HDN in War Thunder
I found an interesting topic about -1A on the DCS forum.
Seems some -1A is not classified and not under of export control.
They are just insanely hard to find.
If it had an IRSTS / TCS that works why would it need MPRF? it provided similar capability with improved performance, in various respects.
Also the contention would further be supported as to how exactly the AIM-7M & -7P are guided if the F-14 only had a CWI illuminator, of which we know no Sparrows after the -7F supported, thus likely use PD-ILL waveform, which is a MPRF signal.
that manual says f-14a has mprf? would the f-14a be the earliest mprf radar?
I reminded that when I visited the JASDF Komatsu Air Base last year, NAVAIR 01-F14AAD-1 was on sale for somehow.
It is exactly same copy that is available in online.
However, not sure it is allowed to post in forum because title says Distribution Statement C.
Might need to see if things get revised downwards pending the Iranian Fleet being downgraded from a Fleet in being, to a Fleet in pieces.
Considering that much of the reason was to not give them ideas, and that the modern IRST-21 leverages much of the work done for the AAS-42. it might be partially released in future.
nope Viggen has one
they probably jsut printed the one out that you can get online
it still says NATEC ELECTRONIC MANUAL
What radar exactly?
but problem is that the PD HDN is significantly worse than say a F4J PD HDN
has the highest notch angle in game for some reason so its one of the easiest to notch
AJ37 with PS-37A radar has MPRF and TWS at 10.3
oh i thought he was talking IRL
It doesn’t actually lock, just centers the camera on whatever the radar is locking. If you turn off your radar, the TCS will stop following the target (and instead “lock” the air at the last known position). You also can’t “lock” the TCS on a target without the radar, like the harrier can. If somehow you can, I’d really like a clip.
You can see that on the harrier there’s a second smaller green square around the aircraft, which means the pod is actually locking it. You don’t have this on the F-14B like it used to.

Fixing the F-14’s max speed underperformance.
Getting on this ASAP. The F-14 deserves it’s true speed, as it’s one of the few things it has left. It’s wayyy too slow right now.
Where do you get the mach 2.6 quote from?
I’m not complaining, I’d love a super speedy Tomcat, just interested.
Edit:
I found this, claiming 2.5, with the possibility of going faster
