Isn’t the TCS completely useless in WT? I heard they’ve now disabled the ability for the TCS to lock targets since the Leviathans update. It was the last gimmick it had - it was sometimes useful to track someone flying away from you since the HDN radar is quite bad at that. Was also stealthy.
Now it serves no purpose. Just a glorified zoom button I guess.
No it still works, it’s just useless. The camera view has barely any zoom and the MFD screen is unusable until you get within 2km because of the TV seeker sight they gave it blocking the view.
Wish they would model it correctly. It should be far more useful especially for Sim but they won’t correct it.
What works? The TCS lock? I just tested it, it doesn’t. Just to be sure I tried the same thing with the AV-8B+ targeting pod and it works fine.
Another nice gimmick it had that I forgot to mention is that locking a target with the TCS would give you a gun lead indicator. Because the F-14 radar is so bad (hdn only) this was sometimes the only way to get a lead indicator when in a dogfight or chasing someone. Other jets with a targeting pod like the AV8B+ still have that feature btw.
It does? The lock slaves to the radar fine for me. Sometimes it does bug out but so long as I keep the radar lock I can deactivate the target point and it will snap back to the locked target.
Afaik radar stuffs are included to NAVAIR 01-F14AAA-1A, NAVAIR 01-F14AAP-1A, NAVAIR 01-F14AAD-1A.
They mainly describe weaponry, but there are no digital copies of those from the 1970s and 1980s, and those from the 1990s onwards are literally classified and impossible to find.
only the first image is about the radar modes
the second image has nothing to do with the radar itself and is about the IRST
the third image at best confirmes that it has TWS and explains how it works and isnt talking about target aspect
the fourth image is talking about the logic behind the radar and not about it being able to switch between HPRF and MPRF,
the thing ppl are complaining about, the radar only being in HDN PD and i didnt see any source that disproves that for now
