dcs is not great ngl, the only reason i ever enjoyed it is DCS liberation and enigma’s cold war

Maybe MRL mode?
MRL is basically pulse-type ACM with 5NM range, but it is controlled via the RIO’s DDD screen and controller instead pilot side, it allows the RIO to adjust the radars elevation and azimuth.
Probably it will be similar to the ACM lock with HMD in the game but, need to control radar manually instead seeing target like HMD/HMS.
However, irl F-14 RIO never used MRL because it was goofy and quite hard to use compare to PLM/VSL/PAL.

Am I wrong though Ron, We have a Yak 141 carrying weapons it was proposed to carry. No different from really giving a F-14D a 120. Not sure how well the F-14 would do at the increase in BR but that is down to the devs to figure out.
I would also include the PGMs on Tornado and Mirage they were planned never adopted.

I don’t understand that logic simply because it’s a prototype means it’s okay to give it the full capability of technology/armament it barely tested/didnt test but service vehicles that do have the technology and more of the technical capabilities for it somehow is not okay. they don’t need to give prototypes stuff they didn’t use as well and adjust their br from there
Personally It makes sense to give leeway to service vehicles weapons they had planned integration/testing as well as it’s more believable than prototypes (f16XL/yak-141/kh38mt/ f102a w/aimf an g)

I suppose it’s because it’s unfair how an aircraft that was equivalent to something like an F-15C or Su-27SM, and that could have been quite good, ended up being such a piece of junk.Without lying easily, 70% of my kills with the F-14A and B were with the AIM-7/9, and the AIM-54 was just for show because it wasn’t good for anything else, The only thing I’d like, and it’s not too much to ask, is for the F-14D to receive the 7P engine. If we want the 120, we’d have to request that the F-14D in the tree be converted into the F-14D Quick Strike or request the ST-21

Asking for the the st-21 is pushing it. The F-14D has enough technical capability/planned integration for AMRAAMs as well but I’m un sure about harpoons, harms, jsow, and agm62
Also gajin already made it apparent that service vehicles can get experimental weapons even if they didn’t carry them like the f102A w/aim4F/G, kh38mt or even prototypes like the f16XL and yak141

there is no difference, its just the currently established double standard, but there is no real reason why you should make the distinction. both of these provide more variety and flavour to the game, both of these are unrealistic(we both know which one is more unreleastic though) so realism isnt a valid reason.

If I’m referring to the AIM-7P-2, it should have it even if it’s the regular AIM-7P, Regarding the Harpoon and the HARM, the F-14 could physically guide it, and as far as I know, the pylon on which the laser designator pod is mounted was the one that was going to be used for the HARM missiles, I think the Harpoon too, but I’m not 100% sure about that, It’s not like he could carry many, or at least as far as I know, physically he could only carry 2 HARMs or Harpoons. I think he could physically carry the AGM-62, but I don’t know if there were more tests
If Gaijin doesn’t want to properly portray the AIM-54 because it would be as broken as, or even more broken than, the Fakour-90, and other nations have nothing to compete with, then give the F-14D the AIM-7P or the AIM-120A, Because the only way I’ve ever gotten a kill with the AIM-54 is by climbing to over 9700 meters, and even then, I’m lucky if I hit 1 out of 4
