F-14 Tomcat: History, Performance & Discussion

Tbh I dont think they’ll add it for the same reason they won’t add aim-7p-1 or the proper missiles for the f102A but like I said we enough people we could probably make a change happen

i completely agree. And i will support you through this i want all of my f14s to be competitive at their own br, as a f14 fan we should all work on this until they figure out what to do with it i be happy to see AIM120A on the f14.

I do to but personally I thought the f14D was gonna be 13.3 with aim-7p and everything else it had going for it before it was gonna be added but well we(or just me) got spat on in the face and got a butchered version that gajin just want it to be a f14B witch is BS

Northrop Grumman officially marketed the F-14 'Super Tomcat" (F-14D) as being capable of max Mach 2.34 and Mach 1.2 at sea level.

Noting that they clearly make distinctions from the A model to the D model when necessary, but they clearly didn’t do it here.

Gaijin should give us the AGM-53A now. With MITL this AGM should help the F-14A with CAS.

The 7M is a bit silly, though this might extend beyond as just a Sparrow issue. The F-14s are kinda the only jets I play these days so I’m not really sure

that sparrow got chaffed

Not really, the only real buff is the all aspect seeker, the maneuverability is worse in most cases and only really better against high altitude targets

If I post another bugreport on an issue with more substantive evidence that completely supersedes my previous reports, will developers give it a fair chance/will I be punished for reporting the same topic? @Smin1080p_WT

With how little in regards to the Tomcat they seem to care, I would be surprised if this were to even be considered.

Though, this kind of Tomcat featuring these types of weaponry would be cool, would it be enough to justify an addition, with the means of being a testbed aircraft?

A technical moderator made a suggestion for the NF-14A w/amraams so yes testbed aircraft can be in game

What weight does that hold here, does it mean it’s more likely to be pushed? I don’t mean to be cynical, I’m only vaguely familiar with how things work on this forum

I quote it so to not write it twice.
Does this help in anything with AIM-7P Block 2?

The 54 should loft and loft to 50-60kft it then falls on the target travelling in the region of mach 1.5ish.

Making it incredibly dangerous, now like an R-37 you are going to have to defend preemptively. Modern avionics MAWS and protection systems make these missiles less of a threat but anything coming at you from above at mach 2 is not something you can ignore.

btw, every video of r-37s shows them climbing to space much like you’d expect the aim54 to do, i wonder if theyre going to screw up the r-37 like the aim-54
