Lovely stuff
Very good! If they fix the Phoenix i buy!
You are the 4k BTW!!
I am what?
the 4000th post!
Ah, lol. Never looked at the counter. Well, with the changes F-14D indeed turns into a lovely aircraft. Does it worht 80 bucks? Not for me. But people are free to spend their money on anything they want, and if it bring them joy - why not.
I can’t disagree! 80 eu is enough money . But at least if they make it ok, it’s my favorite plane ever so i would buy…
Now final boss AIM-7P.
Shouldn’t this also be backported to the F-14B “(U)” as well? Since it also uses the Sparrow-Hawk HUD
The AIM-54C+'s seeker (and warhead) also needs to be corrected, but then so does the AIM-54C.
Yes now its need to be mach 5, shoot down all aspect, and increse g overload, (C+ use avionic of AIM-120).
zero clue, i ain’t no Tomcat expert, i just like this jet, among many others.
Sparrowhawk VDIG-R HUD is specifically for the F-14B(U), the F-14D uses AN/AVG-12 Kaiser.
Sparrowhawk:

Kaiser:

Kaiser is also used on the F/A-18 but it’s a different version, AN/AVQ-28.
Link-16 was added to the AN/APG-71 in a PDU. The AIM-7P (alongside the M, which gaijin uses to refuse the 7P for… reasons?) is listed in training manuals. There is never any mention of incompatibility of the AIM-7P with the F-14D’s systems.
Now on the other hand, we have one example of an F-14A IRIAF that was extensively tested and modified to try and fire an R-27… Only to completely fail. It can’t fire the missile. Yet, gets it ingame instead of the R-73 it could fire.
Well, people posted docs here, including export restricted ones, that, while F-14D can use P sparrow, it doesn’t retain Datalink capability.
This is an event one-off aircraft. Gaijin quite often is more lenient when it comes to modelling event stuff for the purpose of making it unique.

i ain’t touching that lmao
Oh god that’s number 😈
People already posted these documents. While AIM-7P is not incompatible with F-14D it is not compatible with its datalink. Because of that AIM-7P had to be used in AIM-7MH (H-build) infrastructure making it effectively an AIM-7M with lofting profile. The only feature of AIM-7P that we could potentially benefit from in this configuration is IOG which is an independent system from datalink and should work on its own.

irl the AIM-7M has trajectory shaping with better time to hit gains, should also include a simple loft profile. AIM-7P should improve upon this.
Both are underperforming. Gaijin has sat on this report and let the R-27 series dominate for a very very long time.
mine isnt working right i dont have the radar screen or any gun indicaters
