Yea most of the time the player that im tracking disappears. And than i have to turn off the radar and than turn it back on to see the target moving on my TWS

and some people still think f-14 was balanced back then lmao.
Didn’t get an actual equivalent till f-16/mig-29 came around, and the only things that came close b4 those 2 planes were prenerf mirage 2k/mig-23mld/j-7e

Fair but now we are talking about the present day f14 it has been heavily nerfed but if they fix the plane and give it its actual weapons than it can compete, afterwards we can see how it affects the game.

Wish they would just give it it’s historical max AOA / AOA button. We all know they nerfed the elevators of the F-14s extremely hard and they also made the wings implode in most turns back then.
They tweaked the wings a bit but the elevator and stability issue still persists and prevents the aircraft from being as maneuverable as it should be.
Same deal, the AWG-9 is still just a sad radar. The fact that it still does not have any of the benefits that it’s RIO gave it while other radars have target identification and such already is a travesty. Even if its just differentiating between a aircraft and a missile, such should be a thing.
At the end of the day though, I think we all know that gaijin has just forgotten these planes exist, or chooses to ignore them given their dismal state, I doubt they will ever get any love at this rate.

That’s my biggest disappointment with the plane. I feel better in F-4J in how the radar works than F-14…
Can’t hold a lock for crap. Especially TWS is… whatever.
And the other is the very nerfed Phoenix. Especially the 54C. Especially when i see the azzpull of a missile F90 is.
Also, the 14B should have upgraded AWG-9 . AWG-9 received various upgrades in its service.Not the same with the 1970s (As it appears in game) F-14A.

I agree abt the radar upgrades over time, as long as there are documented sources abt them and what they improved. The AWG-9 in the F-14B needs a wee bit of a boost in todays meta.
As for the AIM-54C, there really isnt much they can do for that missile per se. I guess they could give it the Mk 60 motor that has higher thrust but less burn time.
They’d have to add the AIM-54C+ in order for an actual boost in seeker performance. I’d also like it to get 9Ms and the AIM-7P as well. And perhaps a visual overhaul as well to the B(U) standard considering it got JDAMs and EGBU-24s to my knowledge in game

AIM-54C+should be reserved for the F-14D with it also getting AIM-9M and AIM-7P

what they should do with all the tomcats is:
F-14D: AIM-54C+, AIM-9M and AIM-7P
F-14B: AIM-54C/A, AIM-9M and AIM-7M
F-14A: AIM-54A, AIM-9L and AIM-7F

I’m working on a report using this video about that
The F-14 ingame not only cannot reach the peak AoA displayed here but in certain cases it’s response in doing so (Especially wings forwards) is up to 2x slower than it’s real equivalent. It’s also very unstable, which as everyone can clearly see even up to 90 degrees no lateral control is needed to stay straight and level. It’s ridiculous.
Also when the Tomcat is swept it should perform less like a normal fighter and more like a delta and with the F-14A, a delta canard. It should loose speed and pull hard (13G) like it’s known for IRL.
A common tactic that USAF pilots would do against inexperienced F-14A pilots would be to get them to pull hard while swept and go to the vertical.
Seeker improvements did happen with the 54C+ ECCM, but the main upgrades for WT would be added with the Aim-54C, which include 25G pull, better loft and midcourse trajectory, smokeless motor, and stream raid + all aspect capability.

Wasn’t all aspect aspect/mprf ability added with the c+?
Where did you find that the normal c has all aspect capability?
Also, does the 54 a also have 25 gs or is that added with the c model only
