9m? aim120? you get a great loadout at 13.0 sure the airframe might be crap but you have actual tooth in the fight. f14b gets aim9l, and aim7m/aim54cs.

i played IRIAF with sparrows and phoenixes just because i wanted to check if US mains coping about F-14 has some truth to it. I found out that there is not a lot of truth.

The biggest con with the F-14s I’ve found is the 9km ACM, the AWG-9 can be a bit finnicky sometimes, and only being able to get a lock within 9km is a bit detrimental when I’m used to shooting AIM-7s around 11-13km. (irl the Tomcat had a PAL mode, which is kinda similar to the ACM we have in game but it went out to ~28km)
Other than that, the Tomcats are pretty good. The A’s are pretty limited on their CM counts like the MiG-29, but the B is solid.

doing fine, isnt a measure of an aircraft being good. i was doing fine in the su27sm back when the radar was broken doesnt mean the aircraft was “solid”.
how can the worst aircraft at the br (or second worse if you believe the sea harrier fa2 is worse) be “solid”.
