Even the F-14A can sustain Mach 1 in a 35 degree climb at Mach 1 to around 6000 meters. I do it all the time.
The advantage in first climb-first shoot will be nullified by the much worse missiles. If anything it makes the MiG-25 an insanely easy target for the Phoenix to consistently hit. The R-40D has around a 40-60km effective range. The Phoenix can easily do 100km plus against a high closure rate target like the MiG-25.
Maps are like 40km at 12.7
I’m pretty sure they’re 125x125 and you spawn 100km away from each other…

Incase Gaijin tries to say different with the F-14D, the IRST does work with the radar and missiles of the F-14, as shown by this early 1970s piece put out by Hughes.

Gaijin doesn’t allow planes with modern IRST (like the Eurofighter or SU-30) to fire radar guided missiles through them. I don’t know what evidence they have to say that it can’t, but that doesn’t apply to the F-14. I’m planning for worst case scenario which is unfortunately something I have to do with these devs.

MiG 25PD won’t have much chance in F-14 games…
In order to gain advantage in speed it has to be pretty high… on the deck is slower than a Phantom.
If it go pretty high , it’ll get pretty Fakoured , because with that maneuverabilty and in those speeds it won’t evade ever. Even with AIM-54s it won’t.
say whatever you like, player show different playstyle and you cannot say it has no change without being in the game.
What other playstyle is there for the MiG-25?? It’s quite literally designed to climb high and get fast. That’s it. If another plane does that better, it’s useless.

the performance of the mig-25 is well known and if we get the Mig-25PD with the SPO-10 and no CMs then you wont even be able to survive a F-4 launching at you and even less a F-14
we dont know if it will face f14 yet, f4 dont take a lot effort to chaff it and turn and run
