They’re large caliber and the 33 doesn’t have very hot engines.
The F-14B has extra small caliber CMs with the hottest engines at the BR.

also the F-14 has 60 normal size CMs which is still more than what the Su-33 can carry
and now lets take some chaff as well and then the Su-33 might only have 30 flares or maybe even only 24 if you split chaff and flares 50:50
that deadzone makes a pretty substential difference
in some cases it is enough if somebody fires from slightly above and you wont get a RWR warning
the Radar way worse + cannon ammo count
F14b radar is much worse than the n001 of the su27 series lol

The scan rates are worlds apart
No one worth their salt uses less than HPRF on the early Flanker radars buddy
Scan rates don’t mean anything if the radar can’t detect/lock anything

Lots of players have PTSD from the F-14 and still see it like it was back at release…
All in-game F-14 have one of the most inapt radars br wise. Completely blind to anything not going straight towards you, can’t launch radar missiles at targets going cold in most circumstances (unless massive speed difference or you pop airbrakes), 9km ACM (in a world where everyone and their dog have a 19km acm) giant notch angle, no hmd of course, etc.
But hey at least the radar has a range of something like 300km+ on those tiny maps.

Nah the radar on the su33 is 100x better then the f14. it can lock targets from practically any angle even from the rear the f14 can’t only from the front i mean it can but it will struggle to point you say fck this.
