F-14 Tomcat: History, Performance & Discussion

The Rafale would like to disagree

When you hard lock its mprf anyways below 50km

It’s called a comparison

Well it’s an abhorrent comparison because the Rafale has the best radar in the game…

Anyways how was the buff on dev?

f-14b being better than the mig-29 series/derived radars is certainly a take i never saw coming.

Lots of players have PTSD from the F-14 and still see it like it was back at release…

All in-game F-14 have one of the most inapt radars br wise. Completely blind to anything not going straight towards you, can’t launch radar missiles at targets going cold in most circumstances (unless massive speed difference or you pop airbrakes), 9km ACM (in a world where everyone and their dog have a 19km acm) giant notch angle, no hmd of course, etc.

But hey at least the radar has a range of something like 300km+ on those tiny maps.

Nah the radar on the su33 is 100x better then the f14. it can lock targets from practically any angle even from the rear the f14 can’t only from the front i mean it can but it will struggle to point you say fck this.

Ah yes the flag attack strikes again

Scan rates matter more than angles, and the F-14 is way faster

No it doesn’t like someone said you can’t scan what you can’t see and from experience I had times where no one on the enemy team shows up on my radar but bots/missiles and like we keep saying it can only effectively track targets moving towards you but even then notching is extremely effective to use against the f14 not to mention when people use multi path. aim7m on the f14 are the same as the aim54 they barely get kills like 1-2 kills rarely ever get 2-4 kills you have to sweet an insane amount compared to something like the su33

How Gaijin prioritizes bug fixes is something that has puzzled me for a long time and I’d like to get to the bottom of.

This is a game. Wouldn’t it make sense to prioritize fixing bugs that impact gameplay? Scrolling through changelog and the data mine there’s pages upon pages of inconsequential fixes… things like “Corrected plate thickness from 5.75mm to 5.8mm” or “changed name of machine gun dididi to machine gun tralala”. No. One. Cares.

Meanwhile there’s vehicles that are missing critical gameplay features such as ammunition, missiles, blow-out panels, spall liners, etc. and yet go unchanged for several years.

I’m not crashing out over this little model fix specifically, but bug fixing priority in general, just so that’s clear

Artists don’t really fix bugs that aren’t related to visual model errors, that’s not their job.

Damn, 4 months ago. I didn’t even realize it was related to ECM; I just thought they updated that portion because they added the F-14s fuel dumping. In that case, I think they missed these, which I’m assuming could also relate to ECM systems, but I’m not sure:
