I’ve seen that picture before, it showcases the latest modification 14D received before retiring.
Possibly some 14B (upg) had that too, i’ve seen pictures of them with and without it , i mean the thing in the intake.
That being said the model in the game is not 14B (upg) .
The one in the AIM-54 pylon is the ROVER upgrade. I don’t think that in the game would have any difference though.
Afaik, A model and B/B(U) model never had ROVER upgrades because they are aged and all squadrons at that time are already transferred to Super Hornets.
Now that they’ve started simulating the coolant, I’d like to see the sealed Phoenixes added. It’d definitely give more options. Not that it’s very worth it with the way Phoenixes are modelled as of right now.
I suppose they’ll leave it for the D or a B late though…
The F-14A Early we currently have is modeled according to the 1977 April SAC and Iranian one doesn’t have time caps. According to P&W’s AD, TF30-P-414 has been in production since March 1977.
I don’t know the actual performance difference from 412A, but it would at least be worth investigating.
What really gets me is that they added such detailed simulations for the temperature, pressure, and altitude. And then they just gave us 1 color of afterburner through all regimes of flight.
They have the means to simulate the colors changing as you go faster/higher/hotter
(1. I am not a Tech Mod, I am a Suggestion Moderator.
2. The Report was previously accepted by Tech Mods ( → its valid), the answer given like this and many other are coming from the Devs and have nothing to do with rudeness, bias or incompetence by Mods.
We won’t accept Suggestions for smth thats already implemented.
Since the Devs are aware that other Aircraft (incl. the F-14) are lacking this feature as per comment in the report, either (Suggestion/Bug Report) are unnecessary at this point - any Aircraft lacking the feature shall be reported if at all) “unnamed suggestion mod”
AOA limiter removal that is present on aircraft in game was the result of it being a planned feature for those aircraft by the developers.
No aircraft got the option to disable the AOA limiter via a report, the Gripen was always planned to have it, so when a report was submitted it was marked as fixed but the fix was not a result of the report.
Tornado was also denied the AOA limiter disable capability despite evidence it has the capability. It was simply not planned to add it to it. The same applies to F-14.
That just means the Tornado should get it too, what causes this arbitrary imbalance in what gets the features it should, and what doesn’t? I know you’re only relaying what the developers have said but I am very upset with those developers. What are they thinking?
