How is it these planes are functionally counted as the same vehicle and given the same battle rating. There is a huge difference in performance between them.
The F gets better payloads. a better selection of guided bombs and the AGM-65 missiles.
Most importantly it has better engines. 10320 kgf on the F vs 8790 kgf on the C.
In general I think these planes really under perform for their battle rating in Air games. The Australian C version especially. The F version getting a extra ~18% engine makes a absolutely huge difference to speed and acceleration.
Given the F versions better performance and payload options there is just no way both of these vehicles should be the same battle rating.
The F-111F gets to go faster but have worse flight performance.
The F-111C gets to dogfight better than Mig-23MLs for a lower acceleration.
Wing sweep set to zero is best unless you’re going for raw speed.
I use the F-111C more as a fighter, though I’ve used both as fighters.
And for the purposes of air RB, their loadouts are effectively the same.
Also, your post claiming they should be different battle ratings… it wouldn’t be the F-111F that’s moved up, because dogfight performance around these BRs tends to impact BR more than acceleration.
IMO, they’re fine being the same BR. F-111F trading the ability to dogfight better than a Mig-23ML for more acceleration is a fine trade off.
Wasn’t their a f111 that used aim7?
