Extremely strange audio cuts/sound positioning

So I’ve only had this for about 3 days now but it makes ground rb very unplayable. I don’t play air much but I dont notice it there, everything sounds normal. The audio for tanks seems placed wrong, always appearing to the left/right of where it should be. Sounds cutting out, and some just not playing audio at all. I just dont understand how this suddenly happens, it was literally working fine 3 days ago. I do play with RCSM, and initially I thought that was the issue, but after uninstalling it and still having the issue im extremely lost.

Looks like some sort of surround sound conflict. Double check your settings for surround sound in-game, in windows and any audio software you have installed. It might be that you have different settings in them that makes the game try to play audio through speakers that aren’t there (like if you have only stereo headphones but have 5.1 or 7.1 setting on for example).

It might actually be that honestly. I did install some software for my headset around 3 days ago. It did prompt me to update the headsets drivers but other than that I genuinely did nothing else, I dont know how or what to change/how to roll back the drivers to make it work normally again. HyperX Cloud 2 btw.

I don’t know enough about the specific headset/software to be specific but look for any surround setting or stereo / 5.1 / 7.1 / etc in the newly installed software and change that to a lower setting step by step until the sound is okay again.

Alternatively go into windows sound settings and look for something called “spatial sound” . If you’re on win 11 you find it by right clicking the windows menu button → settings → system → sound → in the top square of options click the device you’re using (usually called “speakers” or “headphones” or similar) → at the bottom turn off spatial sound.

The above two options are likely going to fix the issue, you might not even need to do both, play around with them a bit to see what works :) (No guarantees though and I recommend starting with “spatial sound” as that is only one setting to test to know if that is the issue or not)
