Expanded List of Indonesian Vehicles - Ground

it seems only the sight were stabilized?

but again not sure, from the footage you can clearly see the gun fixed while the hull rotate, dont think you can do it to that extent without a stab

The video was for the prototype, this one is for the standard in service one

from this part the center tank doesnt look as stable as compared to the left/right, so not 100% sure its a 2-axis stab or not

if it’s a part of the sight then maybe these images can help pinpoint what type it is

Commander sight

gunner’s

The Traverse drives are pretty fast (22.5 degrees a second), They are Marconi PD700 units. But yeah it’s a lot a little things that suggest a stab, but nothing that outright states there’s a stab. Was hoping there might be something in Indonesian or something ;-;

The sights are Avimo NVL3001s. Just a LRF is included.

Pretty sure it uses the Marconi [S/E]FCS600 if it has a full FCS, but I haven’t found anything to say the TNI actually went for that option, can’t see any of the sensors for example.

yeah I could not find anything

I’ve looked deep too. There’s a full research paper for the freaking shock absorber & roadwheels but nothing for a stabilizer

It’s disappointing tbh (the lack of info that is, not your efforts), at least the gun elevation is pretty speedy, so shouldn’t be too bad in game

Image taken at Selamat Datang Monument in Jakarta right after G30. When the Saladins were “New” they used to have those 5 numbers on the front right fenders rather than the modern square TNI plates, not often you get to see it

here’s an image of a vehicle with very similar markings during that same time

Indonesia will receive 2 batteries of the HQ-9 Long Range SAM system in the 2nd half of 2027.

massive upgrade from the QW-3 on the TD-2000B ADS, so this is very good for us irl

From what I’ve heard it’ll be the FD-2000B variant (250km range)

EDIT:

1 Battery of the ADS-400 Trisula (Turkish-Czech-Indonesian MERAD/LORAD) also expected to arrive around the same time (4 additional batteries are being discussed as well)

just like the Air List, im planning on including misc vehicles, basically things that are related to Indonesia but doesn’t have a tangible enough evidence to support its inclusion in the main list.

This can be either just a proposed sale that wasnt trialed and the like

currently im thinking of two tanks

  • Marder Medium Tank (showcased model for Indonesia)
  • AMX-30E (Proposed sale that was eventually cancelled)

im quite sure there were more but I dont remember them off the top of my head, if anyone knows more additions it would be much appreciated!

The ones that I could remember are Dutch Leopard 2A5 (cancelled for political reason) and Excalibur Army T-72 (proposed and favored by Parliament members, lost to Leopard 2RI). There’s also hearsay about Leopard 1 procurement in the 1990s that eventually lost to Scorpion 90.

oh yeah forgot about that one!

was there any proper mentions of the Scarab being offered to ID(like news articles)?

Also additional here’s some older photos of ID Cavalry officers riding on Indian tanks, IIRC they were there to analyze the Indian Army units but I dont know for certain whether they wanted to get those tanks or not, could be just a testdrive or something along those lines

Spoiler

I honestly thought this was already on here until you mentioned it, but I can see how it’s a bit harder to place.

From what I’ve seen Indonesia got a specific national variant of the Marder Medium tank after initially expressing interest (?) in the Marder Medium MBT shown at Eurosatory.

Marder Medium MBT

This new version was based on the Marder 1A3 already in service with Indonesia instead of the Marder Revolution. But it also seems like a bit of a dead end. It was developed for Indonesia but seemingly as a private export venture instead of on request. So now there’s the question if a tank made for the Indonesian military but possibly never asked for is Indonesian or not.

yeah technically made for Indonesia but never actually purchased nor trialed, so it goes to either GER-ITA by default

its not just the hull that’s different but also the turret (notice the mantlet cover). Although it uses the same 105mm gun

Yeah, I think the closest comparison would’ve been the Oplot-P, made for Pakistan but never directly trialed because VT-4 was chosen instead. But they changed the name and added the Oplot-M that Pakistan actually trialed instead, and even if they did there is no Ukrainian tree, so Pakistan would still be the only option and we couldn’t see how Gaijin decides with multiple options.

I still think that this is more than just a general failed export because it was specifically made for one nation, but the specific situation is so rare we have no real precedent for it.
More likely I think we just won’t see it, instead Germany and Italy will get the Marder Medium MBT and Indonesia will get service 105mm light tanks.

The exact variant of EA’s T-72 isn’t mentioned, but in a report made by First Comission of HoR in 2012 after their visit to Czech Republic, the T-72 has “reasonable selling price” and “its specification is well suited to Indonesia’s terrain and infrastructure, making them a good alternative for Indonesia”. The Excalibur Army also stated that they could collaborate with Pindad on upgrading the T-72, so that the tank capabilities are “on par with the Leopard”.

I’ve heard about EA’s offering Indonesia the Scarab variant, but I haven’t found an article on it.

reports of the KF-41 Lynx being marketed for Indonesia

https://www.hartpunkt.de/lynx-kf41-rheinmetall-sieht-marktpotenzial-von-ueber-6-000-panzern/

Its worth noting that I think this is merely a miss-identification of Poland being confused with Indonesia (the article quoted also mentioned it as such)

“Papperger provided no information regarding specific timeframes or the probabilities of the respective market potential. Nevertheless, he apparently made two errors. At one point, he confused Indonesia with Poland. Furthermore, he stated that a contract for the procurement of the Lynx had already been signed in Romania. This statement was picked up by the Bloomberg news agency and subsequently denied by the Romanian government.”

ID Army officers had taken a gander of the Lynx during Eurosatory 2024 in Paris so it could also be real, but who knows. Personally I dont think it is, but Im putting it here just in case so people understand the context
