We are on the same page. The Mirage should, if any, have the Swiss 450Kg Spengbomben.
This is the Initial Mirage, which still shows NORAD, which in my Layout with the C.70 is no more.

Tbh, looking how 10.0-11.0 is doing as of rn, this plane could get the regular rear aspect 9Ps and stay at 10.3, since not only the mig25 basicaly obliterates you before you get whithin the range of your falcons but also all planes that can carry chaff are carrying it (again, thanks mig25) which makes the falcons even more worthless
AIM-9P5 has the AIM-9M seeker no?
Guess what Br Gaijin would derivate from that.
AIM-9P4 could be interesting but Gaijin might already chose to increase the Br if they add a rear aspect AIM-9P.
The mig 25 has rounded this br range. I have a 3.0 kd in the thing from stock. One of the easiest things to fly, basically a better f-104.asa at 11.0 instead of 11.7. Although i dont think it should stay at 10.3 with 9ps but im 100% behind giving it to it.
9P-4’s would definitely mean a BR increase.
What I don’t get is why they didn’t add both the pre-upgrade variant (no canards, no countermeasures, current armament) at a tad lower BR, PLUS the post-upgrade one as it is now but with AIM-9P-3 and all-aspect AIM-9P-4 and higher BR.
Same story for the Swiss Tiger, with its pre-upgrade armament and post upgrade airframe (and completely unauthentic radar…).
Same thing with the thai f5s. The squadron one with 4 missiles but no hmd and the pythons only being permitted on the underwing hardpoints while the TT f5 has hmd but only 2 missile with the ability to carry 2 pythons on the wingtips? No idea where they are getting this, seems like a balancing decision but even then it still doesnt make much sense.
I also think that is a balance decision that the IIIS only has the 9-Es. The 9Ps would be fine honestly, there are lots of aircraft that have them at that BR (The Hunter, the F-35); Hell, the MiG-21s have the R-60 at the same BR.
In the case of the Thai F-5: I have heard that official documents are still restricted and classified, so it could also be that.
The Swiss Mk58 Hunter has the more modern Sidewinder at 9.7. I see no reason why the BR would move if we add the same as we got on the Swiss MK58 Hunter.
Ones a mirage and the other a hunter, say what you will about the mirage 3 but it is far from bad. Ive got like a 3.0kd in the mirage 3c and a pretty decent one in the e, been meaning to spade the s so i may finally get round to it.
May be said a little too much but it would be power creep, the mig 21mf is already quite powerful at 10.3 and it has fm on par or slightly better than the s. Although saying that, with the recent br changes (f8 moving down to 10.0) i dont see any of there problematic jets getting touched anytime soon.
I played the IIIS a lot before MiG-25 was added, it was a beast.
I’m currently working on a quite extensive suggestion draft to split the Mirage IIIS C.70 into a Mirage IIIS “early” and Mirage IIIS C.70 “late”.
Hopefully will have it ready by next week… = )
This week have started to use the MIRO more regularly in Sim, and am actually not unhappy with it as a whole. Am actually quite positively surprised about the FALCO’s performance and reliability: When used properly, it’s doing a good job.
Will this improve the radar for the AIM 26 version?
Radar was not upgraded iirc, so early and late would have the same Taran radar.
The main differences between early IIIS and late C.70 are the canards, the countermeasures, the RWR and the armament
Probably a dumb thing to note/ask, but do y’all think Gaijin could justifiably add the Mirage IIIRS KAWEST '85? Like I know it’s a photo-recon bird, but iirc it still had Sidewinders and the DEFAs, correct?
I don’t think that would reasonably work: You’d only get 2 all-aspect missiles & RWR, but no radar and nothing else apart from the DEFA’s. Don’t know where the AMIR could be placed.
so it will remain forever its most limiting factor
Still a better radar than the (Swiss) F-5E (should) have…
If we want to keep it TT, then it could stick with just rear-aspect AIM-9Ps, and be placed in-between the Mirage IIIS KAWEST 85 (now with P-3s/P-4s) and early Mirage IIIS (with AIM-9Es)
