Sweden received the blueprints and production license for the vehicle, which was adopted as the Strv m/41. A total of 116 S I variants and 104 S II variants were built by Scania-Vabis in Södertälje.
The S II featured thicker armor and increased weight, requiring a more powerful engine. To accommodate this engine, the hull was lengthened by 65 mm.
Variant Differences
The earlier Strv m/41 S-I had thinner armor and was powered by a Scania-Vabis typ 1664 engine producing 130 hp at 2300 rpm.
The Strv m/41 S-II introduced thicker armor and increased overall weight. To compensate, it was fitted with a Scania-Vabis 603/2 six-cylinder engine producing 160 hp at 2300 rpm. The 65 mm hull extension allowed installation of this larger engine. Top speed reached approximately 45 km/h.
Armament and Ammunition
The Strv m/41 S-II was equipped with:
- 37 mm Kan strv main gun — 100 rounds carried
- ksp m/36 Strv machine guns (later designated Ksp m/39B in Swedish service) — 4,000 rounds carried
Mobility and Performance
Ground clearance was 400 mm.
Fording depth was 900 mm without preparation.
Maximum climb angle was 45 degrees.
Maximum stable side slope was 30 degrees.
Track width measured 293 mm, with a track contact length of 104 mm.
The transmission was a Praga-Wilson gearbox with 5 forward gears and 1 reverse gear.
Dimensions (S-II)
- Length: 4,605 mm
- Width: 2,140 mm
- Height: 2,350 mm
These measurements include the 65 mm hull extension specific to the S-II variant.
Comparison
The base armor layout and general damage model are largely correct. However, several structural, mechanical, and material inaccuracies remain.
Armor Discrepancies
- Floor armor plate is currently 5 mm — should be 8 mm. (Not yet reported)
- Engine deck (hull roof over engine compartment) is 8 mm — should be 10 mm. (Not yet reported)
Engine and Mobility Issues
- Current engine has no proper designation — should be Scania-Vabis typ 603/2 (Bug report accepted).
- Top speed is 41 km/h — should be 45 km/h (Bug report not accepted).
Exterior Modeling Issues
- Towing cable on the left front hull is modeled as a solid 4 mm structural steel plate. (Not yet reported)
- Driver’s right-side viewing port is missing from the damage model. (Not yet reported)
- Wooden support blocks on the right fender are modeled as 4 mm structural steel. (Not yet reported)
- Metal storage box behind the wooden blocks is missing from the damage model. (Not yet reported)
- Lifting jack above the storage box is missing. (Not yet reported)
- Bullet and splash shield for the front transmission hatch is missing. (Not yet reported)
Rear Section Issues
- Engine exhaust port and pipe face the wrong direction. (Not yet reported)
- Exhaust is incorrectly connected to the fuel tank. (Not yet reported)
Interior Issue
- Internal armor plate separating the engine and fighting compartments is missing. (Not yet reported)
These 14 issues involve incorrect armor thickness, missing structural components, improper material assignments, incorrectly oriented mechanical parts, incomplete internal modeling, and incorrect engine labeling. The Strv m/41 S-II was a structurally modified variant, and its in-game representation should reflect these specifications accurately.
