Today, the Dreams Come True event featuring the KV-7 as the main reward has started! While exciting as it is, it’s War Thunder’s 12th birthday this year, so we wanted to spice it up a bit for you. We’re happy to announce a few side activities related to the KV-7 and the game’s anniversary!
Your eyes don’t deceive you — there’s now a chance to win the famous IS-7. As it’s War Thunder’s 12th anniversary, we’re giving away IS-7 heavy tanks during our anniversary stream to 12 lucky winners through earned tickets during a new event. Read on!
Introducing the “Chasing the Older Brother” Event!
When: From November 15th (11:00 GMT) until November 18th (11:00 GMT), earn mission points in the “Chasing the Older Brother” event and get tickets for a chance to win the famous IS-7, added directly to your account.
The “Chasing the Older Brother” is an event with arcade levels of difficulty where everyone plays in a KV-7 vs KV-7 mode with no aircraft set on “classic” small maps: [Domination] Kuban, [Domination] Poland, [Domination] Eastern Europe, [Domination] Abandoned Factory, [Domination] Karelia, [Domination #1] Mozdok, [Domination] Advance to the Rhine, [Domination] Sinai, [Domination] Volokolamsk. Everyone has 3 respawns.
To participate in the Chasing the Older Brother event you need to own the KV-7, which is obtainable during the Dreams Come True event.
You can find this event under Events & Tournaments from the hangar.
Tickets
Let’s see what tickets are. 1 ticket is given for every 5,000 mission points earned in the “Chasing the Older Brother” event. Tickets are limited to 5 per day (a new day starts at 11:00 GMT), so the maximum amount of tickets you can acquire is 15.
You can track your daily progress by heading to your Profile > Achievements > “Chasing the older brother” section. Each ticket that you earn has its own unique ID in your inventory.
You can look up your ID in the list by first finding it on your profile page and then searching the file for it — all your tickets with corresponding IDs are in it.
Read below to see how tickets give you a chance to win the IS-7.
Tickets & How they can win you the IS-7 on the Anniversary Stream
How do earned tickets convert into a chance to win the IS-7? On November 22nd (16:00 GMT), we’re going to host an anniversary stream where among other things, this giveaway will take place with Mike and Tom being the hosts.
Each ticket that you have will enter you into the giveaway draw. The more tickets you have, the higher chance you have of winning.
12 different winners will be drawn on stream — each will win the IS-7, added directly to their account! If a winner already owns the IS-7, we’ll contact them later to choose any pack from the Gaijin Store and another winner for the IS-7 will be redrawn on the stream.
Twitch Drops!
Twitch Drops will be available for the entire weekend on a select amount of content creator Twitch channels as well as the Official WT Channel during the anniversary giveaway stream. The exact channels can be seen on Twitch under the “Drops & Rewards” section. Be sure to watch to earn yourself some goodies!

What an awful way of doing this. Not only are there only 12 people going to be able to get the IS-7 out of the hundreds of thousands who play the game, it is pure chance and there will almost certainly be people trying to abuse the matchmaking to get into games with squadronmates/friends to farm score. If you want to make an event out of this, don’t lock it behind a single special gamemode where all you have to do is get score, then make it a random minute chance you get the vehicle no matter how much grinding you do. The best way to run something like this would be to have tasks that have specific requirements, like the battle pass challenges or special tasks, but that have much more restrictive time limits. This way you cannot simply abuse gamemodes like sim or abuse the matchmaker to get lobbies with friends to farm score, the vehicle is guarenteed if you actually do all the tasks and put the time and effort in, and the tasks will require people to have different parts of the game played, of different nations and at different ranks like some of the battle pass tasks require. You can then add playing the special gamemode into the mix by making it part of some of the tasks.
isn’t it possible to reward player already owning the is-7 with any other unobtainable vehicles like the katyusha, andryusha, etc? The is7 is a “bit” more valuable than a store pack, especially for collectors.
If maybe like 500 people were chosen it’d be nice. 12 is just asinine to the players who have played for years and years. Jesus. I thought you guys did good with that new trailer just to spit it back in our faces. So say I grind for it, get tickets, but oh wait, I don’t have time for the stream? Like cmon.
This has terrible idea written all over it. It really should be more fair to the players.
Even with 500 IS-7s, the percentage of getting a vehicle is sub 1%, in fact it’s 0.00137%
So this is this year’s version of the Sturmtiger PvE event “Imminent Breakthrough” (10-16 Nov 23). In that event, though, you got a unique camo for 3 wins, so everyone else tried the event out at least a little, though, whereas this just seems to be a grind for a very small win chance.
Maybe add something similar to last year’s camo prize so that this won’t be a complete waste of time for the vast majority of players who try it out?
It isnt actually. A while ago Gaijin said in a QnA that the most played mode is Air AB, then ground AB, then ground RB then Air RB then all the naval modes, then the Sim modes.
Queue times depend on the BR as well, if you queue for air AB at the lower teirs you will get games instantly. If you queue for ground RB and AB at the lower teirs and the BR’s where there are a lot of premiums, you will also tend to find games instantly. For me it usually takes a couple of minutes max to get naval games, though I do open up the server selection a bit for naval. For air RB it again can depend on BR’s, 6.0 takes ages if you are queueing a bomber, the areas where there are lots of premiums will again have very short queue times, 3.7-4.7 seems to be persistantly isntant, and the early to mid jets are where the queues take a min. High teir Air AB takes a while as it seems not a lot of people play at those BR’s. It does however make sense that low teir Air and Ground AB are the most populated modes, because those are the modes people will start with and are generally the most forgiving.
I’ve done some calculation, all of us here will have a higher chance at scoring a twitch streamer gf and she bought the IS-7 directly from the marketplace and sent us as a Valentine’s day gift. This is actually 10x more likely than the stupid loot boxes loool
