When this class of ship was first built in the 1960s, it was equipped with six SS12M anti-ship missiles, but due to the outdated nature of these missiles, they were later dismantled. The version provided in the game is the dismantled version

one could make the argument that the south dakota is as strong as the KMS scarnhorst on release
