Eurofighter vs Rafale battlefield

From my experience while it has the best overall radar coverage, its range is so so, and the time to scan the zones is one of the worst overall (when the Russian radar scan speed increases with the zone size, the RBE2 is constant, and its smallest zone is bigger than many radars largest zones).
This means that the radar is overall worst at scanning the sky that you want to scan compared to the Russian radar (mostly in RB situation where the enemies are usually in a small sector to you)
The size of the scanned zone would be more important if ESA radars where not already capable of tracking detected targets outside of their search zones.
Overall I’d give a slight edge to the Russian radar, but it’s really potato potato

Important to differentiate between irl and the game. Russian radars have a faster scan and update rate (somehow)

Which makes it even more confusing when people simultaneously ask for AESA EFT and also asking for Rafale’s 8x MICA and HMD to be removed.

Idk about others, but for me it’s an either or thing

Sooo i checked my replays sadly it’s too old… should have save it RIP

Yeah I think @DirectSupport is missing the fairly obvious point here.
Being that one (Rafale players) cannot oppose the addition of Eurofighter AESA due to it’s tested nature, while taking advantage of their extra MICAs and HMS.

But this goes both ways, so I agree, it should be have both aircraft recieve trialled features or neither (hopefully not the latter, as no one benefits from that)

F**k the CAPTOR-M radar, it is bullsh, no vertical radar scan at all, you need to adjust it manually or face the enemy directly to scan it, big piece of 💩

F4 ICE, Mig29G Radar >>>>>>>>> Eurofighter CAPTOR-M Radar

:)

Alternatively, we give the French players what they’ve always wanted and replace their Rafales with Typhoons. Let’s be honest, most Frenchmen aspire to be British.

Drops mic and runs for cover. Awaits explosion.

That’s probably the most insane thing that’s been said in this thread. At best we like you slightly better than the germans

The narrow mode at least has an ok height, but ofc, it’s extra narrow, so not much volume gets scanned horizontally.

That’s one of the takes of all time

Yeah a bit of a stretch, I consider the radar bad myself, but not Mig-29G bad…

For me its inconsistant.

I’ll have a match where it works beautifully, still not amazing, but more than acceptable, followed immediately by a match where everything that could bug out or break did. From ghost contacts, to failing to track and easy target, to not being able to locate something I could visually see, etc etc.

Other radars, like the Foxhunter in the Tonka F3… Dont really change from match to match and its the inconsistancy that puts me of the Typhoon more than anything

For me the worst is when you have a soft lock with TWS and the locks starts drifting, then you reset it and sometimes the target you had literally on screen 2 seconds before disappears.

I use the extra narrow scan box all the time, and it does have the issue I just expained, I don’t even bother with the wider ones, I just know they are like a multiplier for that issue.

Yeah, this is kinda what I mean. You have to spend more time just fighting with the radar to maintain the lock than you do actually setting up a shot.

I think its time for CAPTOR-M buggy report #4

but all the issues would probably go away with P-Track
