Radar spreadsheet with the absolute minimum we can expect from the CAPTOR-E when added to the game compared to most other top tier radars currently in-game:
CAPTOR-E keeps the exact same scan zones and beamwidth as the CAPTOR-M
CAPTOR-E takes at most 1/8th the time CAPTOR-M takes to complete a scan
CAPTOR-E has the same update rate as the RBE2-AA (worst in class among airborne ESA’s in-game)
If anyone has any info that could allow me to put other incoming radars into the spreadsheet, let me know and we might be able to see what they’ll look like as well.
How many nations even have captor E tho IRL. Arent the eurofighter nations a bit late with how slow they have been to develop an Aesa 4.5th gen? Maybe a side question but truly interesting because it might be an issue in game wise since many nations cant get those eurofighter varaints?
3 nations in-game could get some variant of CAPTOR-E/ECRS, unless gaijin starts adding subtrees with EFT’s to other nations. Bit of a tricky situation though cuz i think only 1 in-game nation (Germany) has already started deploying EFT’s with ECRS in actual service, while other nations are planning on doing so in the near future.
ECRS Mk0 has been received i believe by the Qataris but is a worse aesa and not to even a European nation tho. So that will need to go to either UK or Italy. Germany can possibly get it in time along with Warthunders time schedule.
ECRS Mk1 is for Germany IIRC but still haven’t been received
ECRS Mk2 is still in trials and haven’t finished up. which is why i said developing, as in the fact it seems like it will take much longer for the British to receive their Mk variant.
Like I said, this is a minimum assumption, it SHOULD be vastly superior, but I wanted to stay with something reasonable. I have a more realistic model for it, but I hid it in the spreadsheet i shared cuz i based it off a better model of the CAPTOR-M, which is also info I cant share on the forums.
Also, gaijin modelled the CAPTOR-M as inferior to its predecessor for a while scan zone-wise, so its actually not too farfetched an assumption that they’d just take the lazy way out and just copy paste the CAPTOR-M’s current scan zones into the CAPTOR-E…
LOL on what basis is it the best available on market with how late the production started in 2019. Dassualt actually sold jets with aesa radars before them. Straight up Propaganda
So no real basis or Sources to back up his statement. Just assumptions I mean still lol, i get the whole its smaller and decent range comapred to a felon but thats all ur comparing it to when that is a redfor Jet and not a blufor. best on market when many nations are also buying 5th gens like F35s in far more numbers and skipping that process. pointless comparing it to Su57s when the F35 is there and straight up more sold
Gladly I do not care about rafales in the game and dont play them either unlike some people who want it nerf but continuing play the rafale to avoid their awful time Eurofighters. If i was in dev team i would have taken away the 8x micas and brought it to 6. As well as equally bring up other Fox3s on the same seeker level
The rafale kinda has the proper 7.5 tons of force per engine right now, I measured 14492 kgf of static thrust while ramming the rafale against a wall and going full throttle, in lower temperatures, it should get to 15000kgf+ (Edit: I tested in the -10ºC map and it essentially made no effect. So it might need a small improvement by around 500kgf per engine)
The EFT also has a higher TWR across the board right now.
Static TWR on min fuel
Rafale 1.34 (14492 kgf)
EFT 1.35 (17152 kgf)
Mach ±0.94 TWR on min fuel
Rafale 1.67 (18100kgf)
EFT 1.73 (22000kgf)
Weight values on min fuel
Base weight = empty weight + oil + crew
Another thing that isn’t relevant for TWR testing but for general performance, is that the rafale has considerably lower drag.
For example, at 1458kph where the rafale rips its wings, the rafale has about 13000kgf of drag while the EFT has 16000kgf altrough the EFT can push its top speed to 1610kph. The rafale accelerates a bit faster after mach at low altitudes but has a much lower wing rip speed.
The rafale can cruise considrably faster than the EFT though, and will go over its 1458kph rip speed at 101% afterburner when clean.
