Once it gets into full rate production they will order so many it is just slightly more expensive than the AMRAAM. So it’ll be one of the more cost effective missiles.
That’s just what I think could happen though

why wouldnt they wouldnt add aim260 when F22 is added
He’s talking about IRL procurement of AIM-260 over meteor on Typhoons/European F-35’s
It would make more sense for it to have 120C-5 or D anyways
? im confused america using 260 or meteor
260
so why would they add a meteor instead of aim260 on amercian jets
Domestic missile and ramjet vs. rocket motor for range and NEZ
I think expecting Aim-260 if/when the F-22 is added is highly optimistic. I cant imagine we’d be any higher than late Aim-120C variants or Early Aim-120D.
and I am talking about european acquisition of Aim-260. It probably wont ever happen unless the US forces europe to do so and with… current political situation… that is unlikely.
Many European nations operate the F-35. They’ve been waiting the better part of a decade for the US to intergrate Meteor.
why add the britain one its not like we need it tho Aim 9X and d model 120s are more than enough
OH i get it now sorry i can be slow sometimes
I don’t really care, they have to run it all through our F-35’s so chances are we benefit from it too
i just want my YF-23 techtree gonna go crazy if its a premium F20
Look what they did to the Comanche
im praying not bro id be fine with it a sqaudron tho like F117 that works to
It started out as a British project, but turned into a European project.
Ah yeah, a plane is not made to fight i forgot about that part, and the very bad look must explain your definition of an “aircraft not selling well” with the 114 orders for India or the many clients interested while eurofighter is selling “so well” especially to foreign clients…
Otherwise i don’t know what you are on, there is a big “feature” irl, which is called an AWACS, they don’t do 1v1 or even 12v12 like in war thunder.
The gun is also far, far closer to the centre of mass. The IRST is at the very front of the airframe
does it tho? Feels like a very oversimplified post with a lot of cherrypicking going on
AESA LPI radar in the PL-15 could explain, although i don’t really know if the 200+ km shot was confirmed really ?
In any case India is about to buy more Rafales and some people tend to forget that cruise missiles and diverse sorts of weaponry flew uncontested in the area in the following days, with JF-17s no where to be found.
If the plane was that trash and did not meet the expectations, I don’t think one of its main customers would try to short cut the MRFA deal to do a state to state deal for 100+ fighters
If anything, it’s a good wake up call for all western nations regarding chinese tech, France of course, but also the US and the rest of Europe, because nothing guarantees a EF in the same situation wouldn’t have been shot down.
SPECTRA however is not some sort of miracle solutions as some french mains out there make it out to be, that i agree with
That is pretty much the standard MO for any thread dealing with modern fighters to be honest!

Not a whole lot of love for the Gripen? Seems to be an outlier in terms of diehard fanbase. Pull yourselves together SAAB Bros.

The only sane ones left being well-adjusted Brits who obviously know the Typhoon is better because every FGR4 is flown by the reincarnated ghost of Biggles himself who can harness the power of the RAF moustache to confer superpowers. Totally unbiased appraisal by the way, move on.
I think that covers it.
