what cool feature does it have over the su35 ?
He means su-35 s
Unironically i think even the 90s su-35 might be better than eurofighter for air-to -air
Canards…Canards are cool
I did yes the Su-35S
i think its better if they just skipped to su35 cus its the only proper fighter with maws. (excluding su57)
Yeah but s u-35 lighter and depending on variant same thrust
Britain is normally paired with France. Of course you don’t die to Rafale…they are on your team.
I forgot to add from this part:
Since this is EFT Vs Rafale thread, I forget to mention the part from my experience playing US or China, especially playing J-11B, I rarely get killed by Rafale since these Rafale usually gets killed early due to joining furball too early.
When you say “furball” you mean when large parts of both teams go into a chaotic turn fight where luck weights a lot?
you mean the Middle of the Map, when everyone run to with full afterburners, in which Rafale is favored thanks to it’s weaponnary, and without having a single dedicated time for Strategy and True BVR combat in which everyone is favored over Rafale?
yes, it’s basically called a furball at this point. ^^"
Yeah, at least in my timezone (You can say this is very biased, but I want to point out some outlier), most Rafale player are dumb enough to always go to furball instead playing in AWACS Mode.
idk, I’ve noticed most players overall are pretty bad, the only reason I don’t butcher them is that I’m really bad at telling how much to lead bullets
Rafale just does it better.
Now if that only would reflect reality.
But it appears rafale is so bad in reality not many are realy intrested in buying it.
Hell turkey switched to eurofighters as soon as they were able to, even while germany mistreated them the whole time and wanted to bkock sales initialy.
The whole time france tried to throw the rafale at the turks
That quite frankly is nonsense.
Comparing Rafale to Eurofighter is a little like comparimg Spitfire to Bf 109.
Which variant at which time?
I was talking about in game performance in any case.
Here Rafale simply is the best.
I am a big Eurofighter fan actually.
Almost twice more export orders than EF (163 for EF, 273 for Rafale)
A not impressive difference of planes ordered (530ish for Rafale, 760ish for EF) even if you count the manufacturer countries, while one was done alone and the other at 4 countries
Do you know what the relations between France and Turkey are ? If Dassault wanted to sell Rafales to Turkey the government would probably apply a veto considering France kind of has a bilateral agreement with the greeks…
the SAMP/T battery Turkey wanted to buy from Eurosam comes to mind
India on the other hand, which lost one recently, seems to want to buy more and does not seem to want to switch to EF. One can make its own conclusions about this whole situation.
Rafale production lines are full until at least 2033, and they even want to ramp up production…
EF ? Yeah tough luck
The only part we can agree on is :
- Yes Rafale is unbalanced in game
- No it does not reflect reality, 15G is insane and no pilot would resist that anyway; Rafale isn’t the only one in this situation though, although i can agree it profits from it the most
- Planes generally don’t follow their realistic counterparts, be it Fox 3 seekerhead being bad or flight models in general, nothing new under the sun
You make some good points, order numbers for Rafale are also for the French airforce/Navy
As they have chosen to correctly, to not engage with the US Gen 5 F-35 programme. The Rafale is always going to play a huge part in French security and will continue to see updates allowing it to operate in future battlespace.
That’s the truth arms procurement is 80% politics with 10% capability. Any nation that buys an F-35, Typhoon, Rafale or Gripen knows they are going to recieve an airframe capable of any mission.
Again Rafale production is because of the belief behind the airframe shown from the French. Typhoon in RAF service does seem to be stalling in terms of new orders and upgrades and talks of F-35A procurement are common place. Rafale only having one stakeholder (the French MOD) and one central point of manufacture actually simplifies the process. Dassault decide we want to change the engine, they can just do it.
I’d be curious to hear what you have to say to back up your claim here
That and its successor, that is of course non negociable, especially since it’s a part of the nuclear deterrent
Of course i’m not going to pretend the plane is some wunderwaffe (or “arme miracle” as it would be called in french), politics also play a role, but if it was as bad as Shini tries to imply, it wouldn’t be a moderate export success like its predecessors before him.
That last part is crucial and is one of the reason i hope SCAF fails. As it currently stands, Dassault is supposed to be the head of the fighter pilar, but can’t do so because of the 33% - 66% share with Airbus D&S. It’s just unmanageable. Airbus D&S should also consider their position carefully, because they are currently not in a favorable negociating position. Dassault can use all french sub-contractors (Safran, Thales, MBDA) to make a plane quite fast, Airbus D&S can not. Dassault is also full of orders and with Rafale F5 it can take the luxury of waiting, Aribus D&S can not, as their production line barely holds. There’s a risk of know-how and job losses
My point being, EF is a decent fighter, just like Rafale, but it’s an industrial nightmare, which Rafale isn’t
Sale of aircraft in real life is heavily dependent on politics so, real life isn’t like a game where even a little inches of stats matters.
