Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

Did u do those “practice duels” with full fuel + 3 fuel tanks?
Cuz there is no other explanation.

The Eurofighter is still one of the best dogfighters in game and certainly not worse at slow speeds than fully loaded F14B.

This loadout adds 1098.2kg of weight to the EF

This loadout adds 1568.8kg of weight to the F-14B

I chose the AIM-54A because it is lighter than the AIM-54C

it isnt.

it might be a lack of dueling expirence instead

@Metaltank1990 i would gladly fly the EF against your F-14B i should easily lose against you right?

Damn look at that radius disparity, F-14 is nearly double.

I’m not going to argue the F-14 has better turn radius or anything like that, but using the minimum turn radius comparison using a third party tool does not tell the entire story. That same chart will tell you that the F-14 has one of the highest sustained turn rates in the game.

Of course, how that actually pans out is much different.

The problem is that the F14 reaches that rate at speeds where your pilot is permanently blacked out and it is increadably easy to rip your wings of in the F14 at that speed.

And I can tell you that it is possible to reach that STR in WT.

Also @Metaltank1990 claimed the the F14 is better than the EF in slow speed performance,
which it isnt

EF can just monkey pull to get a good position on the F14 no matter the speed

also having a higher turn radius is worse

I didn’t say it couldn’t but it isn’t useful because the turn radius at that speed is massive. You don’t need to worry about pilot blackout just set pitch trim and your plane will maintain that turn indefinitely, pilot awake or not. People do it all the time for advantages in sim.

No, the problem is that any pitching beyond the maximum sustained turn rate speed or at low speed causes excessive energy loss. You don’t need to out-rate it, you only need to force him to pull harder once and suddenly his energy is gone.

Which is what I was referring to, the F-14 simply can’t do that because of the low SEP.

we talkin about tomcat in here hell ya

yeah it turns well but not for long its endurance isnt that great
if its dogfighting a Euro fighter the eurofighter can just energy trap it

it cant

the TWR of the EF is significantly better than the F-14

it is like saying the f-18a can energy trap the F-15a

oh i said it backwards please excuse me i meant it other way let me fix that

The EFT is better in a dogfight than the F-14. But if the EFT isn’t allowed to use the cobra button an F-14 can work with what it’s got for a good chance.

thats not true

EF with instructor vs F-14 in full real controlls

Without weighing into the EFT Vs F-14 debate: it has been shown that StatShark consistently over-estimates Eurofighter’s performance compared to in game testing.

Too bad thats pretty much how it would go.

They merge, eft monnkey pulls and win.
And if they play a bit more passive, Eurofighter wins there too

that is not true

It is true though. Let’s compare the following conditions:

  • Mach 0.65 @ 30 m
  • 2 x AIM-9M + 2 x AIM-120B
  • 4,300 kg internal fuel (92%)

StatShark says 19.9 °/s:

Spoiler

In game it is 18.6°/s
