It’s all about altitude & conditions with actual speed vs mach number

btw dose anyone have the whole brochur this was in?

It’s just that we are talking about aircraft with performance characteristics closer to each other than the one on Bf 109 and Spitfire we are also talking about aircraft with a thrust to weight ratio higher than one.

You are a little simplistic in your approach.
Even in War Thunder the speeds you are flying at matter as well.

Over all Rafale has quite the edge regarding maneuverability. Guns only is mostly interesting for duelists only while Rafale might as well just win that one due to the mind boggling performance and characteristics it currently possesses in game.

Eurofighter has been nerfed heavily in flight performance.

thats why you should manage your energy well instead of pulling all the avaiable Gs in the merge, energy managment applies to all planes in a dogfight.
It dosent matter if it is a BF-109 or a EF

if you would please consult the graphs

Unless im reading that wrong, doesnt that say the Rafale can pull more Gs and turn in a tighter radius than the EFT?

But in either case. It doesnt matter if the Rafale cant quite pull onto a Typhoons tail. it can just use HMD+MICA or Magic II to close the gap. Typhoon on the other hand has to maneuver to the point of bringing guns to bare before using either of its missiles.

Id rarely if ever fire an AIm-9M with anything other than a good lead on the target.

Do not ignore what I said earlier please.

In War Thunder if missiles are involved Rafale will notch more easily and fire a high off bore missile more quickly while also being able of reentering the notch more easily than Eurofighter.

In a dogfight Rafale can often times simply pull a lot of AOA and get a high off bore launch off.

Without missiles it depends on speed and altitude of course.

If Eurofighter manages to force Rafale into a regime that is advantageous for Eurofighter it will of course win in a guns only fight. But at the moment at high speeds Rafale is so dominant, that Eurofighter barely has a chance.

Management of energy works a little differently for 4th gen jets than it does for older aircraft. Advantages gained are often not quite as decisive.

Eurofighter rather locks up at the moment so you are forced to bleed speed deploying the airbrea for example kwithout resulting in a gained postition while Rafale can choose to either keep energy or do what currently might be easier pull as hard as possible, bleeding speed to more optimal energy levels for maneuvering while also gaining position.

As you can see Rafale even has the advantage at high speed while also being capable of pulling higher g-loads and attain a higher AOA.

By the time you reach ideal rate speeds for Eurofighter Rafale might be in such a dominant position already that it does not matter how many degrees a second you turn.

As I said previously that is ignoring missiles altogether. If you include them Rafale will be much more dominant in the current state of affairs.

You should heed your own advice.

thats at mach 1.
who tf yould dogfight at those speeds everything behind the yellow line isnt sustainable because your pilot is permanent blacked out

thats if you let the rafale, you can fly in a way where it is very bad for a rafale to pull aoa

same goes for Mig-29 vs F-16 irl and the Mig-29 didnt just win because it is able to pull aoa

all i see is that you never did one on one dogfights

different jets different playstyles, gaijin obviously wont add a jet which reigns over all other in all aspects

Most of the time, unless you get a perfect merge at low altitude, Rafael generally wins because you can just turn manual controls on and pull 16gs at like Mach .9, get behind eurobomber and fire off micas. And this assuming even fuel loads, because generally Rafael has easier fuel management due to the obscene amount of fuel it can carry in its fuel tanks, so a lot of the time Rafael will also be lighter.

22gs pulling in the raffle is nonsense, the g marker in the hud is wrong. Only planes I’ve seen pull that much was dev eurobomber and b239

Well I usually enter a dogfight at those speeds in game at this Br.

I never enter a dogfight in bad situatikns in a random match amyway if I can help it.

You make an exhausting case of “muh Eurofighter > STR than Rafale below Mach 1, Eurofighter is better in a dogfight”.

When you say “you can fly in a way where it is very bad for a rafale to pull aoa” I will just say you can fly in a way where it is very bad for Eurofighter.not to pull aoa.

Rafale reigns supreme outside of obscure situations at the moment.

you are not going to stay above mach 1 in a dogfight

You wont even need manual. Just hold S till you gain position, then.you manage your energy a bit et voilà.

I’m not saying that but I am likely to gain the advantage before we go below Mach 1…

Which is quite the deceisive thing to do, easily negating any STR disadvantages.

so it is like f-16 vs f-18 irl whoever is the one that exploits his jets advanteges better wins

It always is like that yes. Eurofighter has a hard time in the sorry state it’s in right now.

A lot has to happen before you can take advantage of a superior STR low and “slow”.

And in the current meta. Rafales AESA and MICA beat out the Typhoons Buggy M-Scan and AMRAAM at this time.
