Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

Ive been wondering if that was just due to speed loss, but havent actually tested it myself cuz i never downloaded WTRTI on my new PC

Really bummed out the STR/ITR symbology in the HUD/HMD isnt there tbh, once I found out that was a thing, it was super annoying to realize it was missing.

You know who’s doing it

I’ve got a treat for y’all (seeing as I haven’t seen anyone post this video yet):

Shows some interesting features the info Striker II can display, such as a 3D display of the threat zones of SAM sites/vehicles, along with friendly and hostile vehicles in the mission area.

That thing looks bulky AF.

Mostly made of carbon fiber, weights 2kg.

Here’s a nice side aspect view:

I should do a Striker II suggestion…

Would be nice, there’s more visuals of it, so maybe we’ll actually get more of the features the Striker I should already have…

I have a couple images of the symbology already. So just flushing it out. Might have a go at it this weekend. Feel free to post as much Striker II as you can find.

Bulky doesn’t just mean heavy. That aspect doesn’t make it look less bulky.

Less bulky and lighter than the F-35 helmet, Striker II is probably the most advanced HMD out there. But without trying them all (BAe plz) it’s all just speculation haha.

I’ll say they look both about the same. Went ahead and check the weight they are about the same as well.

Go to a weapons expo where they have an EFT simulator and the striker II and get all the footage they allow you to get xD

And get them on tape saying the EFT simulator is representative of the irl flight performance of the jet so I can bug report the underperforming acceleration :p

I think words to that effect are said in one of the simulator videos.

I’ll try to rewatch and find if they mention that then, cuz if so, we could be in for a rather significant buff to the EFT’s acceleration

Unless we get slapped by another “marketing lie”

The “about the same weight” isn’t as insignificant as you think, even saving a few grams here and there is a challenge.

I say about the same weight because every source I’ve seen says “about”

Striker II is listed about 2 kg. F-35 about 4.5 lbs. they are both using rough numbers.

I’d like to see gaijin genuinely and unironically argue that they train pilots on an overperforming simulator as if that wouldn’t hugely compromise just about everything in their training.

In one of demo videos the test pilot says it’s in declassified mode if I recall. So you don’t see everything that’s possible. It would be difficult to argue the performance shown is 1:1 with the production aircraft.

If anything, that suggests the real performance would be higher than shown in the simulator and therefore the simulator could be used for minimum performance. So if in game, something isnt equal to the simulator, then it can be used to buff it up to that minimum. But if another source suggests its better, then go with the other source with the simulator as a supporting source

I think you’ve kind of ran with the idea its reduced performance but it could also just be total nonsense. It doesn’t need to be even based on the real thing, it can be entirely made up for operating in its declassified mode. And there is literally no way to confirm if its reduced performance from the real thing or just completely made up.
