At least with teen series we’ve been getting the A first, likely to be broken by F/A-18C but still better than jumping to 2019 rafale and a T2 EFT
Does PIRATE have a laser rangefinder?
This may be a dumb question but is the typhoons glass canopy bulletproof ?
probably not, if youre being shot at by calibres that WOULD be stopped by armored glass then i think you have bigger issues
Created a bug report to add profile MFD’s for the radar and IRST on the EFT.
Eurofighter missing radar elevation profile MFD’s
I’ll work on bug reporting the fact Rafale, EFT, and Kfir C10 show up as “?” on the DASS format MFD once I get around to it.
Forwarded.
Much appreciated! o7
I have (i think) a bug sometimes (only in the Typhoon).
I lock a plane, but can’t arm the Amraam. I have to unlock the plane and lock it again, sometimes multiple times before i am able to even lock it with the Amraam.
Has anyone else experienced this ?
most likely radar lock transfers to IRST lock, which cant guide(and fire) amraam in WT
I know, isn’t the case though and i am 100% sure of it.
Or do you mean it is doing it by itself ? Because i have the lock button on my mouse, which is nowhere near my change to irst mode button.
It changes by itself
Ah great, is that a feature or a bug ?
Bit of both.
The game trys to get the best way for an stable lock, but that also includes IRST track which cant guide the AMRAAM in game
Pretty annoying i have to say, got me killed more than once already in GRB where the maps are small and you don’t have time to fiddle around with that bs.
I was just comparing the PS-05A from the Jas39’s to the CAPTOR-M, and (I could be wrong here) but it seems like the differences are mostly jus that the CAPTOR-M has HPRF modes the PS-05A doesnt have, along with more range in exchange for a smaller scan area. Aside from that I think they’re moslty just copy pastes of eachother.
Interestingly, from the wikipedia page, both the PS-05A and CAPTOR-M are evolutions of the Blue Vixen radar, both are missing priority track modes, and both are missing their ground scan and track modes. This can even be seen in-game with the Gripens radar display explicitly stating it has an air to surface mode, shown by the “A/S” indicator just below the left side of the profile view and just below the selected air to air mode [A/A]
Its kinda simultaneously both funny and infuriating to see that certain aircrafts have missing features in-game despite someone on the dev team having done their research and modelled other plane features that allude to or explicitly demonstrate said missing features…
If the wiki is to be believed, the PS-05A’s A/S modes are actually rather substantial in capabilities as well, and being a sort of sister program to CAPTOR-M, it would not be odd to think CAPTOR-M’s A/S modes should be as well.
Gripens literally have Blue Vixen. its identical to the FA2. Its really sad how little effrot they’ve put into the Gripen (with even basic things like the centre line A2G weapon) have been neglected and now it appears to be the Typhoons turn
Looks like you’re right, the PS-05A and Blue vixens only differences in-game seems to be HMD modes…
So both PS-05A and CAPTOR-M have been screwed by horrid and lazy modelling… Thats tragic.
I wonder which is objectively worse between CAPTOR-M and PS-05A in-game atm. I feel like CAPTOR-M is, as the extra range it has is irrelevant in WT, and in exchange it loses something like 33% of its scan area. The lower angle half-sensitivity on the CAPTOR-M might make its lock more stable (if im understanding that correctly) but ive never heard anyone complain about lock stability on the Gripen so that might be a moot point…
