Yeah, im not having as much fun in the Typhoon in ASB as I would have hoped, though its more than just the Typhoon to be blamed. In addition to all its radar and general modeling issues
Returned to the game after a three month break. Researched Typhoon. Play exclusively in ARB.
I should say that (compared to the average skill) I’m good enough player, played in good eSports teams in the top-tier air, performing the role of the one responsible for the BVR in 4v4 tournaments. And… as for now Typhoon is terrible.
Every match I have to fight with my own radar, trying to get a lock on anything other than phantom signals, while a whole swarm of missiles are already flying at me. Literally all this thing can do at the moment is get into notch ridiculously quickly after missile launch, which helps at the end of the game, but isnt very useful at its beginning.
At the same time, the Typhoon doesn’t offer any alternative to trying to make your radar work somehow - you only have two 9Ms, which doesn’t allow you to get a quick kill in close combat, as the planes with the R-73 can.
At the moment, I have given up with the Typhoon with a result of 110/38/55 K/D/B. For example, having recently started playing on 15E, the current result on it is 20/2/6. I refuse to play the Eurofighter until its radar is fixed.
Overall K/D/B ratio is not so bad, but playing EF now requires unreasonably huge amount of effort and concentration. It’s sad to see such a beautiful bird limited by terrible implementation.
Having been mulling it over the past while I think we should be able to get 2 ASRAAM/IRIS-T on the outer pylons and have the second inner ones be just 9M. That way the Fr*nch can get 2 MICA-IR and then we can show them who made the better Delta-Canard.
So you are suggesting giving a heli access to what i believe is the most modern sidewinder, being relevant to the eurofighter at all, heres an idea, if they ever add that stuff, everyone gets it, not just 1 nation
Got to be real as well Brimstones do not cut it you need to get too close to the SPAA and SAMS. They are a struggle.
We really need an improved brimstone with more thrust/range. If its you 1 v 1 vs a Pantsir or Flakrad/ITO you are at best trading at worst having all your slow missiles shot down and dying.
You’re fighting Pantsirs and vt1 slingers wrong then, i have died less to them than to strelas and ty-90’s, even ka’s are more dangerous sometimes because of the 30mm, you honestly shouldn’t try to long range joust them with brimstones anyway, takes way too much time.
Locate the spaa, leave your targeting box on it, use terrain to get within 5 km, pop up, lock, launch and maneuver (in max 10 secs the spaa is dead), the pantsirs missile doesn’t maneuver well at all until like 6+ km, the vt1 is a bit better but still can’t kill you within 4 km if you’re fast enough.
I mean if the enemy spaas (otomatic together with a pantsir or vt1 slinger) have enough brain to work together (pantsirs almost never remember they have guns) for once they honestly deserve to kill you, i know people find the cas of the Eurofighter lacking, i would take 6 FNF brimstone 1’s in a heartbeat too but i think people wanting brimstone 2 would permanently close the door to getting fnf brimstones for a looooooong time.
ah yeah russians self pity party to force things trough where they implemented it for how long exclusive to a su25? while aim 9m didnt get tested anywhere and 9m had to directly get added because of community anger?
wasnt it less then an updates time in between them since it was an event vehicle?
I think it’s possible that they’ll add iris-t (analog) to the tornado first as a test because it wouldn’t be as impactful as asraam/mica ir because you won’t get long range shots and it would at max be 2 kills if used right.
Also im not sure if gaijin will even give them that much range considering how bad tvc missiles are at range.
And who knows maybe all EF will share missiles so we can mix irist and asraams someday.
The only big problem with the eurofighter is the need to have it’s radar fixed, there is no point to search for aesa radar from the other typhoon sold.
and if it cannot be fixed and everyone else is running AESA anyway, then all 3 nations should get the CAPTOR-Es that are being fitted into the Typhoons currently.
