It does, i think. HUD for sure does.
Based on the PIRATE 2002 brochure, it seems it does

OMG, he alive :)
Tyhpoon uses sensor fusion to display an amalgamation of friendly and target data from all available data sources simultaneously. Considering the Typhoon HMD already provides friendly and hostile HMD overlays if the radar is on, it would stand to reason that it should be able to display friendlies with datalink when the radar is offline just like the Rafale, but the Rafale gwts to be a special snowflake jet that gets datalink while no other fighter jets get it ingame because;
- Gaijin are liars
- Gaijin doesnt understand that the friendly overlay in the HMD functions off datalink, instead assuming it works on the power of friendship and rainbows
That is WAY too OP to be modeled currently. Imagine the disaster if teams started working together
The problem isnt proving the HMD can display friendly targets, the Striker I HMD alreqdy does it ingame, the problem is the Typhoon needs to have its radar on to do it ingame as it relies solely on the radar while the rafalr gets datalink HMD displays despite gaijins assertion that tactical datalinks do not exist in-game.
By all accounts, if held to the same standard as the Rafale, the Typhoon should have HMD IFF even with the radar off, but only the Rafale is allowed special treatment.
and A-10C and Mirage 2000 RMV
Pls gib Scorpion/ IFF HMD for EF :(
I wonder, when are new Updates coming which fix EF Issues :(
Feels like an eternity since the last one
The A-10C and RMV arent fighter aircrafts, which is why I excluded them.
Initially, we had assumed the reason the F-16C didnt get SADL (the exact name of the system in use by the A-10C ) was because it was a fighter, so itd be too strong if it got it, gaijins official reason being “there is no tactical datalink ingame” (which is a blatant and outright lie) but following the introduction of HMD IFF to the Rafale, that theory goes out the window and is replaced by either gaijin devs having absolutely no idea what theyre even modelling, or having a hard-on for france and wanting to give them an advantage, both of which are pretty valid theories at this point imo.
Just like my report on the 2A7V/HU driver thermal, they respondet with that they dont differ that… spoiler: this answer is BS…
and if they state it as only a feature that comes with the Striker II then I would like to know why we dont get Striker II.
Rafale shouldnt even have HMD right? or something as that was a later version and certainly shouldnt have 8x MICA. F-15A shouldnt have HMD at all and maybe also no flares. etc etc
I dont think its unreasonable for them to fit Striker II on the current airframes
The Typhoon doesnt use scorpion, so it shouldnt have it, but if the devs are gonna give TDL overlays to one nations fighter jet, they should give it to all nations that use TDL.
The F-15A we have in the game is from 1985. If it would have been one of the first iterations, it would have fought MIG-21’s :))
AIM-9L’s, AIM-7’s, no flares
Yeah the French Rafale F3R never used an HMD, it was first added to the F4.1 standard. It, along with the 8 missile load are both F4.1 standard features in french service. They were added because “they were tested” (the exact same reason gaijin used to deny PIRATE on the german EFT)
The Rafale we have ingame is simply an F4.1 (2023) standard they are naming F3R so they can add an F4.1 later on with Meteor missiles. They skipped every single Rafale standard and went straight for the latest in service one.
Could’ve sworn it doesn’t?
Yeah it doesnt. The F-15C is the first F-15 to have gotten HMD ingame.
theres a nice presentation showing that Eurofighter does not need to turn on its radar due to sensor fusion but oh well
Still no clue why you are going around with this argument, this leads nowhere, it’s the same for a lot of planes on wt.
