Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

I understand thats the point of them irl, but its just outright bad for gameplay. I dont understand how this is hard to get.

If you wanna outrange SPAA, you can do it in air battles just fine without ruining the game for everyone else.

Were getting madly off topic at this point tho.

as i am saying the whole time

The guy just ignores it cause he cant prove us wrong and it would show he is actualy wrong

My F6F with radar has sensor fusion because my eyes can look in the direction the radar has spotted something.

By some people, in this case wiki.

I agree, report it.

prove us wrong,
show us a clear definition of it besides your self proclamation

Eurofighter CFTs have gotta be close to, if not the ugliest thing someone has ever tried to strap to any plane

yea i hope that AMRAAM costs will be reduced as that is one of the only effective ways to protect your team from Kh38s.

Yea i agree that we need SPAAs for other nations that are Pantsir-equivalent in performance. Theres a reason why it is currently the most oppressive SPAAs ingame, and even if it struggles, if theres multiple pantsirs doing CAS is more and more dangerous as even if you kill one with brimstones youre still opened to die to the others.
(Plus the ability to intercept missiles, with majority of NATO missiles being slow at range)

It is all marketing, this is not a single word definition to be found in websters. The same goes for “supercruise”.

But they did. UK and Saudi tranche 3 even have mountings for them

so by all means our definition of sensor fusion is as right as yours and you are compeltly wrong with claiming its not the whole time great

btw the earlier thing being named as sensor ffusion is more correct in that term
Since it was used longer in that regard as your self proclaimed one

not this again. A plane in 1953 was doing this you fool

bug report the lack of chaff on NATO MBT smoke grenade launchers? (the grenades should be compatbile with same type of launcher on diferent tank no?)

whats your definition of sensor fusion then?

In arctic conditions a turbojet powered aircraft was exceeding the sound barrier without afterburner.

Supercruise would imply it can cruise at supersonic speeds. Maximum mil thrust is not cruise. The F-22 can go up to 1.82 mach and pull back the throttle cruise, sit at 1.5 mach. The speed of 1.5 mach is chosen as drag drops considerably once you’ve passed the wave drag boundary.

The Eurofighter cannot cruise at 1.5 mach, it has to be using maximum mil thrust. Pulling back the throttle would result in dipping into the higher drag area of flight between 0.8 and 1.3 mach. Most partner countries have only ever been able to demonstrate 1.4 mach maximum dry thrust speeds.

I can take a look if you’d like, getting some longbow hellfires would be nice to use against Pantsirs and Russian equipment that doesn’t have access to such grenades.

I consider the Rafale’s kit to be a basic foundation for what could be called proper “sensor fusion”. Other aircraft like the F-22 and F-35 have far more comprehensive kits. Comparing the Eurofighter to any of them is just… well… any way I put it appears as slander to y’all.

You gave Zero citation to what the rafale does. Once again, what is your definition of the term “sensor fusion”?

I disagree, the actual factor that should be limiting is the skill of the SPAA and the CAS player. SPAAs shouldnt ever have 100% chance of intercepting every CAS plane no matter the situation as that is going against what the game mode is.
Same way a CAS plane shouldnt be so oppressive that it wins against every SPAA in almost all engagements. (cough cough, Kh38MT)

You mentioned that brimstone 1s already outrange all SPAAs ingame but that is simply not true. Even if they might have a lot of range they run out of speed very quickly, they have an internal guidance timer that wont let you just sling them from 20 kilometers as they will most often than not just self destruct (60 second guidance time btw) and they are all able to be intercepted during flight which is even more probable if you sent them from further away.
No sane player would launch brimstones from 14+km (especially with pantsir alive, being capable of hitting you at 14+ km distance) to outrange SPAAs, they are simply too slow by the time they would even begin approaching the battlefield, let alone trying to hit something.

I would appreciate it if you did, thank you. From quick Google search on Chally 2 has same kind of smoke grenade launchers as Abrams but there may be chaff ammo for other launchers

The Eurofighter combines sensor data on the screen for better situational awareness. Most legacy fighters like F-15, F-16, F-18, Mirage 2000 already do the same thing. The Rafale on the other hand lets the sensors talk to each other and que each other autonomously. The Rafale’s kit combines data in an offensive manner unlike the Eurofighter.

iirc the Swiss report covers it best; declaring the sensor fusion on the Eurofighter inadequate in the competition.

still means you are wrong, because you cant give an official defintion of sensor fusion.
The version you call wrong exists longer and has been called like this since way longer

If anything your version is wrong and you need to search for the official term since sensor fusion in the way of mirage 2k already existed since way longer

you made a whole deal and argument for nothing because you are jsut straight up wrong and stick to your self proclaimed definition of sensor fusion which might not even be the true term for it but only one you yourself imagined and fantasisded
While we already showed of real documents claiming the term sensor fusion while you cant show of any

There isn’t one, I already said that. That doesn’t make me wrong. The Rafale’s use of the term is also a marketing strategy. The fact that the Rafale’s kit is far more comprehensive is what distinguishes it.

Calling the Eurofighter’s kit “sensor fusion” akin to the Rafale’s is the same as trying to say that the F-18E’s radar cross section reduction is “stealth” like the F-22.

Something can have stealth features and not be stealth. Something can have some degree of sensor fusion qualities but not have the same capability as the Rafale.

What is your definition of sensor fusion
