they could be both, F-22 has an IR/UV MAWS so its possible
It feels hilarious to talk about whose positions demand professional demeanor when you keep repeating that the EFT lacks sensor fusion despite multiple pieces of evidence posted by two “professionals” from your own words.
If you have some very credible evidence that directly disproves what Gunjob and Necronomica have posted then do feel free to enlighten us. Oh and this time please stick to actual eurofighter models information instead of prototypes that were half finished.
At what point does someone who continues to lie and instigate forum threads get punished, I literally said this would happen.
I just checked and you can set him to ignore or block so just do that instead of derailing and insulting, its better than getting the thread locked and harassing him.
Man, why would I block people? Not even once in my life have I done it. You might learn (kill the autocorrect) something from them, and if not, I do like to have some entertainment during the day.
that was PIMAWS, a diehl research thing. not sure if it was actually mounted
@MiG_23M Mate if Tech members give you sources, proving you wrong, and you answer without giving proper points whilst denying reality at that point we enter into disinformation. You’re free to think whatever you want to but we’re talking about facts here, not opinions.
I did that the minute I heard his profile became public.
Still blocking alviswisla was pne of my best decision.
Mig23m is dangerously close in second
To each their own. I just dont care to deal with unconstructive ppl anymore and dont trust myself enough to put up with their stuff.
I’d like if we could get this thread back on topic though, instead of letting a troll derail it, we were getting good info.
interesting. i wonder if T5 will incorporate something similar

Moving away from the drama. Any word/news on a fix for the auto-radar-to-IRST switch thingy? I’ve had a few cases of my AMRAAM locks ‘switching’ to IR mode and me furious hammering the launch key without success. Even if they made the ‘switch modes’ key work rather than having to unlock/relock would be a win.
That might be it (my Google does not waht to show it).
unfortunately, i havent heard anything about a fix yet
Nothing…
We just need to make Gaijin believe the marketing lies about how PIRATE can guide AMRAAM
Ah bugger - okay.
Off-topic here, but reminds me of when he went into full-on denial of Leopard 2s (specifically 2A5+ variants) mantlet being vastly superior to M1s, just because I refused to share actually classified documents with him about that.
MiG-23M very much loves to deny reality and spread misinformation especially when it comes to vehicles AND countries he dislikes/has a hate duck for (generally these tend to be either Germany or the UK).
Off-topic over.
Nope. It seems it replaces switching to LPRF, but also somehow bugs the whole thing (at least for me I have to turn the radar off and on in order to be able to do anything). Would guess it is a deeper problem
Its kind of outright bizarre Gaijin would even implement auto-switching to IRST if IRST is not being used as a functional sensor 99% of the time in-game. Its like a poor half-implementation of the system, allowing one of its supporting functions to continue to operate despite refusing to model one of the primary functions.
For all intents and purposes, the only use to PIRATE in-game atm is in sim, and its as a passive and undetectable sensor for finding targets and ID’ing them with the optical portion of the in-game model. Lock switching from radar to IRST when the IRST cant guide radar missiles in-game is complete insanity, particularly when the lock will not return to radar on its own when the targets aspect allows it too…
