Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

Brimstone 2 had an engine upgrade we are talking about brimstones

oh ok

Well… We could get a prototype typhoon with TVC engines at some point. That would be a laugh

would be pretty funny yeah

Sadly never actualy installed.

AMK and thats the only real change we would get for it

I think we have enough examples of vehicles that never existed fully like the yak-141 that it’s possible we could see it in the future.

If nothing else, war thunder is the perfect place to see what never built/entered service vehicles would perform

Shouldn't the Brimstone's launch zone be much larger? What's stopping them from doing something like this?

That is a feature of Brimstone 2s not the 1s we have in game at the moment

I have never seen such a technical and in Depth drawing in my life.

I don’t have this issue going that fast in the J-8F, F-15, Kfir, MiG-23, M2K etc at altitude. The instructor just limits the pull at that speed.

It was only advertised as a Brimstone feature since 2016 with the development of the Future Attack Helicopter Weapon (FAHW) subvariant. As far as I know, Brimstone 3 will be the first in-service missile to have it. Unless you know of a Brimstone 2 “Spiral” stage that had it?

MBDA Literature for Dual Mode Brimstone, and Brimstone 2 prior to 2016 made no mention of it. In fact the 2015/2016 version of the datasheet didn’t mention it either - only the 2016 FAHW one did. It’s in the 2018 datasheet but this is since Brimstone 3 development went beyond the design phase.

Flame has a report up for Brimstone 1

I made that one because someone asked me to. It is possible that the datasheet is referring to a future version of Brimstone. Giving it another read it does seem to be referring to at least Brimstone 2 due to the mention of IM compliant motor.

Can’t see which brochure has been attached as evidence to see if it is indeed Brimstone 1/DMB.
MBDA just publish the data on the website and brochures as “Brimstone” regardless of whether it’s 1, 2 or 3 since the product they are selling is what ever the latest version is - only the RAF really make the distinction (likewise with MBDA’s SPEAR vs the MoD/RAF’s SPEAR 3 - the Cap. 3 part of the name only relates to the UK requirement).
You can only really work out what stage of the missile’s development it reflects, from the publication dates.

And what is our no escape zone for the Typhoon when shooting at it from by AIM-120В?
I have a feeling that it is 10 kilometers maximum if near the ground and 20 kilometers at 10 km.
