Maybe you are thinking of a different problem, but the issue with TWS was contacts were being cleared after 4 seconds without a return. That’s now up to 8 seconds which is the same as Blue Vixen and other similar radars.
That would be the “ghost targets” its a bug on all radars, where the track file isn’t updated. Annoying sure, but not limited to CAPTOR-M.
There is no source for scan speed on BV or CAPTOR-M so its 65deg/s. Scan speed isn’t an issue per say, most of the time I lose track with Fox Hunter is because it updates so quick it wants to track missiles. But I just tested it in a couple games and it feels like a longer range Blue Vixen now.
By what metric? Scan area? Notch sector? Range? Detection?
my problem is that when I try to soft lock someone with TWS, the track doesn’t follow the plane, it just stays in the same place as when it first locked on, so I have to either go into 20x6 scope (so I cant change targets as quickly), or hard lock them (so I cant change targets at all without unlocking first).
This is literally an issue because of the bar scanning order. I’ve asked a dev about it, I understand this is long standing bug but its got nothing (specifically) to do with CAPTOR-M or Blue Vixen.
Same goes for track files not updating, again a bug on all radars.
Narrow scan is the only one to use now, or your shots are just wasted. the issue is you are blind to anything outside that small area infront of your aircraft :(
Narrow scan is what you’re supposed to use against manoeuvring targets. Wide scan is for very long range shots against targets that aren’t trying to defend.
I dont have the Typhoon yet but for the Gripen im exclusively in Narrow scan TWS 37km,19km and HMD PD mode The R-Darter is a close range missile the jet works best in that capacity.
Both are unlockable. 380pts for the BoB one, 770pts for the demonstration camo. Game doesn’t appear to be counting previous kills in the jet towards either camo but it’s not like it’s hard to score kills in this thing so it’s a minor gripe.
Scan speed. And detection is about the same. On 3 decades younger system. Given it should be able to revisit targets like pesa or aesa can. We should have mechanic to designate 6 tws targets that will be constantly updated whenever abtenna passes their azimuth even if they are outside of scan vertically, multiple sources support that and even manual, sadly, cant use manual.
Already this function points at insufficient scan speed of 65deg/s as it cant keep constant TWS refresh rate coupled with jumping outside of pattern to up to 6 targets. Not like refresh speed matters given there is gamebreaking bug affecting every top tier radar set.
Your radar probably catches missiles momentarily and TWS doesn’t have the speed to “refresh” so your lock stays in that last place missile was detected for a while. Detecting/tracking missiles in TWS is a problem in some aircrafts imo. Tracking missiles are a bit too easy at the moment I’d say.
I know… And it was forwarded as “suggestion” god damn MAIN function to deliver amraams and its suggestion. This should have been on dev server already or in fix where rafales aesa got fixed. Not suggestion.
It is forwarded as a suggestion because it would be a completely new mode in game. I can guarantee you there won’t be any differences if it was a suggestion or bug. Developers will look at it when possible just like every report that gets accepted and forwarded to them.
So that’s its then people, pack your things and go home…
Really looking forward to the limbo of bug reports that are rejected for not having a good enough source that we’re gonna have over the next 6-12 months - while the typhoon’s radar in game is worse than the Tornado F3
Just give the Captor M the Foxhunter stats and be done with it
