I’m not going to argue the F-14 has better turn radius or anything like that, but using the minimum turn radius comparison using a third party tool does not tell the entire story. That same chart will tell you that the F-14 has one of the highest sustained turn rates in the game.
Of course, how that actually pans out is much different.
The problem is that the F14 reaches that rate at speeds where your pilot is permanently blacked out and it is increadably easy to rip your wings of in the F14 at that speed.
And I can tell you that it is possible to reach that STR in WT.
Also @Metaltank1990 claimed the the F14 is better than the EF in slow speed performance,
which it isnt
EF can just monkey pull to get a good position on the F14 no matter the speed
I didn’t say it couldn’t but it isn’t useful because the turn radius at that speed is massive. You don’t need to worry about pilot blackout just set pitch trim and your plane will maintain that turn indefinitely, pilot awake or not. People do it all the time for advantages in sim.
No, the problem is that any pitching beyond the maximum sustained turn rate speed or at low speed causes excessive energy loss. You don’t need to out-rate it, you only need to force him to pull harder once and suddenly his energy is gone.
Which is what I was referring to, the F-14 simply can’t do that because of the low SEP.
The EFT is better in a dogfight than the F-14. But if the EFT isn’t allowed to use the cobra button an F-14 can work with what it’s got for a good chance.
Without weighing into the EFT Vs F-14 debate: it has been shown that StatShark consistently over-estimates Eurofighter’s performance compared to in game testing.
The F-14 loses to an F-16 all of the time
The Typhoon was designed to be better than the F-16 in every metric
The F-14 loses to Typhoon even with AOA limits
